One of the biggest Whole Foods around. It used to be a car dealership and it's a historic building which is why it keeps a cool/different exterior.
Traffic on Sunday nights is very heavy. To avoid the lines for the lower lot, bike or walk to the store. If you drive, approach the store from Lee or Perkins to Vernon Street & park in the upper lot.
Ask the kind people at the cheese counter for advice on what cheese to pair with a wine , beer , or meal - or vice versa. They are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic!
For lunch , the best bang for your buck here is the pasta bar . A bowl full of pasta , your choice of marinara , alfredo , or pesto sauce , and either meatballs or sauteed vegetables for $8.
Think of it like a giant horse shoe layout. Turn left, grab the dry stuff, cleaning . As it bends you'll see dairy & booze. Finally there's the butcher and fruits & veggies and prepared stuff.
Whole Foods is nice and fancy , they've got Acme Bread and loads of diet friendly foods and fancy stuff you usually can't find, but they also exploit prison labor and are kinda just awful.
Main parking lot is above the store instead of underground. Access via Vernon Street .
The beauty/health section and coffee bean selection is really good!! Much bigger and more product than both Berkeley locations.
I love the flower mart and the awesome bakery !! Yum!!
You can still get a park on the lower level. For those with alternate scheduled early morning 8-9:30am are great times and weekends by 8-8:30am
Clean and convenient! Prices for soup and to go food is pricey . They're starting to sell imperfect foods!
Stop by the flower section and be sure to ask the amazing florists to do up a beautiful arrangement for you !!
If the registers are crowded , go to the coffee bar register. No one is there usually and they will ring up stuff from all parts of the store.
This store is massive. Great produce and meat. But go elsewhere for staples like tp and paper towels, unless you insist on hand woven by vegan monks.
Got Juice ! Nice fresh! Love this place.
Love this store. Im here Xmas eve and they have taken strides to organize he chaos. In and out in 20 mins. Even had folks guide me to shorter lines ! Love!
So many different goodies to choose from.
Great place to see live ghettoness in the flesh! Little kids (and adults) stealing from the food bar ! Ugh
Great food to go! If you shop wisely and take advantage of deals/specials, it's not as expensive as you might think!!
I’ve been on roller coasters with shorter lines than the “express” checkout here!
Excellent cheese department. Great beer and wine selection .
Customer parking is the "Pitts" so are the customers!
Park at the top level, there are always spots. If you are hungry, get a custom made burrito or pizza . Delicious!
this place rules, check out their amazing fresh/raw juice wall in Produce!
Plan on a long wait at the deli . Like bring along "War and Peace " to read long.
The Macarthur sandwich is delish and big enough to feed a small army.
Wow, the gals at the coffee bar don't know how to smile or say your welcome!
Well stocked, organized . Love this location.
great selection of sandwiches/deli/prepared foods. overpriced for most groceries , but i get ground turkey/chicken, teas , and cheese here.
Please people tell your little brats to keep their filthy paws out of the food, or do us a favor, stop procreating!!
Park in upper level. Food bars are good. Try the gigante beans.
Good for those specific bougie groceries that you can’t find elsewhere.
Soon you will be able to get liquored up and grocery shop all in one, at whole foods.
This may be the best Whole Foods I have ever been to.
What can I say. I heart Whole Foods, not the exuberant prices, which I get for quality, but not for 1 bag of groceries .
Not only delicious food - but cooking classes , fitness, and nutrition education too!
The new bulk section is amazing! They have about 300 items, and at least 20 different kinds of granola .
Mediocre pizza worth exactly what you pay for it. Wonderful, helpful employees make it worth shopping at
You can drop off legit corks (none of those synthetic crappies) for recycle here...if you haven't already found a DIY product for them!
Two Degrees bars are sold here! Buy a bar and give a medically formulated food pack to a hungry child. Is Good. Does Good.
I usually just raid the cookie cart.
Their coffee bar is one of the best around here. They make excellent dark chocolate mochas .
Starting June 7 2011 the cafe is being moved and they plan to charge $4/day for wifi (was free). On the bright side they say proceeds go to a good cause.
The best Jamaican crab cake 's
Good quality produce
The Tea Sparkler is worth all of the $3 I paid :)
The jambalaya is good. So is the lime ginger tonic.
Love their cooking, nutrition, and fitness classes !
Oakland Whole Foods is one of the nicest Whole Foods anywhere!
Use the make-your-own trail mix station. Super yummy!
awesome frozen items include mushroom turnovers, spinach & artichoke dip, and garlic nans - Leena
Best for its great selection of reasonably priced organic & conventional produce. Meat and seafood are also really good (think Whole Foods with 15% off). Best to avoid the aisles though. - PGitty
Fruits, vegetables, and meats are way fresher than some other low-cost grocery stores that shan't be named. Def recommend. - Byron Wilkes
Enjoy a walk around the lake, great views and fantastic places to stop along the way - Patrick Ramsey
