An ocean of cool calm quiet in the middle of the city . There is a requested costly donation but this museum is well worth a visit! Multiple medieval art pieces and actual reconstructed cloisters.

Beautiful place, one of my top 5 places to recommend to friends. Yet, I was robed while climbing the park that leads to the museum . I highly recommend you to take care while getting to the museum .

The tapestry is really intricate and the castle itself is a work of art . The outdoor courtyards are amazing and peaceful . Once you're outside you can go on a variety of scenic walks in the area!

The best kept secret in the city and well worth becoming a Met member to visit often. The tours are also great to get a more in depth feel, and the rare exhibits are always incredible.

Beautiful fantasy on a medieval theme on the Hudson. A neat place to visit and feel like you are somewhere else. Goes without saying the art is pretty great too.

For those who like medieval art it's the place to visit. The cloister's castle was built to show the medieval architecture . Beautiful gardens with plants that were used back than for medicine.

Wow, what a place. You wouldn't think you're in New York. It feels like the south of France! Did you know this is the only museum of medieval art in America? This is a must !

Build in the XX century by John Rockefeller, and donated to NY city in 1930s, this museum recreates a medieval monastery and includes a great collection medieval arts and artifacts . EXCELLENT!

European (mostly french and catalan) mediaeval stuff bought in Europe and brought and recoonstructed in America. A good way of spending a morning if staying for some days in NYC

A little off the beaten path, you won't want to miss this museum . Not only are there great views and easy access to walk through Fort Tyron Park , the exhibitions are wonderful.

Is the Cloisters at Fort Tryon dog friendly ? The beautiful lawn outside the museum is a great place to chill with your furbabies. If you have a small dog, you can try sneaking it inside in the bag ;)

Beautiful historic building and gardens . However, they're missing a clearer narrative to their permanent exhibition . My favorite part was the herbs garden .

Enjoy the day at The Cloisters it's a bit of a subway ride, but well worth it. I highly recommend arriving by 1pm to partake in the Garden Tour , not to be missed!

This Medieval castle/museum is a must see when in NYC! It's located in the beautiful park , Fort Tryon, so make sure to take a stroll in the park after your visit to this incredible museum .

Beautiful. Filled with mostly Medieval Romanesque and Gothic art (don't forget the Merode Altarpiece). You tend to forget that the pillars surrounding the central courtyard are over 600 years old.

It has great beauty. I prob don't suggest kids coming bc (no offense) tbh, can be rowdy, boisterous so (haha) no trouble makers. The garden has rlly cool things there and there is more 2 c 4 urself.????

Great place to go to in the spring. The park as well as the museum plus staff are very knowledgeable on the content. Great place to draw and do art studies.

Parking is extremely limited. If you come on a weekend (and drive), you might have to wait 30-45 mins for a spot. Bathroom lines tend to be very long, too. Prepare yourself!

Take the elevator to get out of the train station at 190 Street. You get to enjoy the park and preview the phenomenal views without the hike . ;)

Definitely don't miss The Treasury downstairs! It's quite literally a treasure trove of some of the museum 's best (and shiniest) objects!

Beautiful but beware the “no camera unless you have a permit” policy. I’m sure people sneak photos but photographers hoping to shoot here with a DSLR will be disappointed. Very romantic spot

The museum is a collection of medieval art . Not too extensive, it can be completed in under 2 hours. Enjoy the views on the Hudson from the outdoor gardens .

A lifelong favorite. On Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m., they used to (and I hope still do) play medieval music . My favorite museum in the world. Outside the grounds, be careful: iffy neighborhood .

Unicorn room is definitely the most fun.. but a beautiful selection of art and artifacts across the museum . Take the elevator straight from the subway terminal

On Saturday afternoons, the museum offers gallery talks, and during the spring and December season, it offers its popular series of $35 concerts in its chapel.

Take a tour with a docent...sometimes they have special lectures. I love how quiet and peaceful it is...even on a Saturday

I did not know this place existed until a friend recently made me aware of it, if you enjoy Romanesque and Gothic depictions of Architecture and Art , visit this place TODAY!!! It will open your mind!

Love it! Beautiful. theres an m4 bus that goes directly.from and to the metropolitan. If you access the cloisters you can go to the met on the same day as well !

Absolutely stunning. Take the time to trek there and thoroughly enjoy the amazing views .

The Cuxa cloister, which forms the core of the Cloisters structure , has medieval architectural elements dating from the 12th century, which were taken from an important French Benedictine monastery .

Kind of a long trip, but a really nice museum of medieval and religious artifacts . They basically transported an entire European monastery to NYC on a boat. Only go if there’s nice weather outside.

Very much worth the admission fee (especially if you're a NY resident who can pay whatever they want)

Medieval Christian art . Unicorns. One of the most beautiful settings in the city . Make sure to take the subway so you can emerge from the solid rock.

A quirky find in a peaceful setting . It will remind you of Europe (in part because actual structures from Europe were imported brick by brick)

Great hidden gem for residents north of the city . Definitely check out the tapestries!
