I thought it was a Jewish museum with a focus on the holocaust, but it is interesting to know the history of the Jewish people and its proliferation around the world. Can spend a whole morning there

Start on the top floor and work your way down through the permanent exhibits to go in chronological order. Otherwise the museum won't make sense.

One of my top 5 favorite museums in the city . Their exhibitions are top notch, led by knowledgeable guides. This museum is always the highlight of my trip.

Quite an ambitious gallery display, fascinating and compelling even if you aren’t a chosen one, which I am, but you don’t have to be.

Iconic NYC museum covering Jewish art & history ~ Stunning collection in historic UES building overlooking Fifth Avenue!

Somehow the folks that run this spot haven't a clue of how much Jewish culture this is ABOVE 96th street. That is, after you've went through Fort Know security to get in! At least it's in proximity.

A fascinating history of the Jewish people reaching back to the religion's foundations and the religion's impact on New York.

one the best museums in NYC with top, super high quality exhibitions . They often have art exhibitions for famous artists like man ray or eva hesse that fly under the radar. Seek it out, it's worth it.

Lots of contemporary art and design here, very interesting museum . Not quite what you might expect.

Matthew McCaslin's Being The Light sculpture on the fourth floor is worth checking out. The piece is more than just a work of installation art , it functions as a menorah as well !

Take a close look at the coins and medals showcased on the third floor. They are stunning. I liked the Portrait Medal of Moses Mendelssohn, but wished the reverse side had been displayed.

The collection of ancient artifacts is so lovely and interesting. Its only take an hour to complete the tour .

Free on Saturdays! The Modigliani exhibition running until Feb 2018 is a must-see.

Pushy guards and overcrowded. Almost claustrophobic displays ( perhaps intentional?) the Chagall exhibit was good, but short .
