HISTORY

More than 270 miles long, 18 miles wide, and a mile deep, this vast canyon is known throughout the world for its size and beauty.

Amanda Smith

Unbelievable!! Don’t just go in from the visitors center. Take the shuttle to the hotel and cabins . The sites are lovely and less crowded . Come in late November/Early December.

Maureen

A diamond of a national park . Hike out to Ooh-Ah point and say hi to lots of pack mules hiking up the steep canyon! Bring plenty of water, a compass, maps, and snacks and don't forget a hat.

Chloe Cunningham

SOO beautiful!! A must see, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!! (although, from what I have noticed, the people here can be quite rude)

Meshari ????

Here where you can forget about everything in your life and focus on yourself, I loved the place so much, it was soo cold because we picked the wrong time “don’t go in November” but it was awesome.

Paige C

I spent hours here and still couldn’t believe that it was real! It’s so breathtaking and the view will leave you speechless. Try one of the hikes to get better views and a unique experience!

brenda johnson

Wow. Hike down Angle Trail . !!! It's difficult and a full day hike , so plan accordingly ... you'll descend/ascend 3000 feet. Super cool.

Noel Clarke

This is one of the most amazing places you will ever see in your life. The views are astonishing from almost every angle. Makes you realise just how small we are, and put things in perspective. Enjoy.

Caroline Deng

Once in a lifetime scenic views . Go during dawn or dusk for the best views . Check out Mather Point and Desert View Watchtower!

Adam Michael Sacks

The Grand Canyon is one of those places that must see before you die. The park seems to be well maintained for the people who visit. Beautiful view . Just loved this place. Will visit again soon.!!

Beth Bond

Must go. We decided to splurge on staying on site. Great decision. Just know it's about the experience and being so close. Maswick Lodge was a barely updated room. Totally adequate but not modern

No need to worry about crowds in winter. While the North Rim at the Arizona park closes, the icy South Rim stays open year-round. Take a ride on the Grand Canyon Railway if you prefer to stay warm. Read more

Lots to do in this park besides look into the canyon or take the trail down. Plenty of trails up top with lots of wildlife . Plenty of amenities .

Nicole Afuape

Great national park - basic conveniences readily available. Save yourself the hassle and just use the overflow parking . Browsing crafts & things for sale in the Hopi House is a must!

Heinie Brian Hartendorp

This is the place to reconnect with nature. Make sure to visit both the east & west wing for pictures.

Henry Larson

Every bit as good as you think it'd be. Take some time to walk around and maybe go for a hike .

James Bates

Such an amazing sight. Beat the hordes by not just sticking by Mather Point. Also, I did the Bright Angel trail - don't underestimate the climb back out. I passed so many people who were struggling

Nick VdP

No Words! We did the Bright angel trail to the Colorado river and slept at the Bright Angels Campground . You have to have a permit. But what an place to sleep!

Brad Hager

STUNNING!! A MUST for all. So many breathtaking view . I recommend the helicopter ride down through the canyon.

Thomas Hawthorne

Visit in the winter, the weather is great and the canyon blanketed in snow is incredible. Best lemonade in the world is at the cantina at the bottom, a worthy 5 hour hike , with beauty at every breath

Jessica Madsen

Every view is stunning! Must see it at all different times of day for different lighting. The same view will look so different.

Greatist

The South Rim is open year round, but some facilities will close during winter. The North Rim is open May 15 through mid-October. The two rims are about a 5-hour drive apart . Read more

Breathtaking experience. A must see.

Ashley ????

A must. Do anything and everything... See that flat rock down there? Ya... Climb down and get your tummy all in knots looking out.

Jon Pressman

Worth more than all the hype. A must see. Rim trail accessible to anyone and has amazing views

Kimberly Quinonez

One of the 7 wonders of the world. This site will take your breath away. If you want to add a little adventure to your trip and not just look. Hike down a trail and get a different view !

Serkan

It will take your breath away, winter is better than summer, awesome scenery. Try to camp for 2 days and be ready for rafting :)

The Ritz-Carlton

Go back in time and visit the only place in the country where mail is delivered by mule. The village of Supai, located at the bottom of the Grand Canyon , is so remote that no roads can access it.

Nicolas Evens

Splendid views all around. If you want to beat the crowd without going down, go west (red line ).

Ryan Schreiber

If you're up for a challenge and have 6 hours to kill, hike the Bright Angel Trail down to Indian Gardens . Breathtaking views and burning calves!

Lisi

The views are breathtaking .....you can be anywhere in the Grand Canyon national park and have an amazing view though...you just don't realize how massive it is until you see it with your own eyes.

drew tarvin

My favorite National Park . They should rename it to the Grandest Canyon. Make sure you stay for a sunset .

I did a road trip from Vegas to California. We decided to go to the grand canyon for a day and it was completely worth it. Go! Go! Go!

Best place ever. Can't do it all I one day. People are way too relaxed with their kids near the edge of the canyon

Richard Revilla

Words or pictures will never describe it capture it like looking at it.

Safelite AutoGlass

Go around sunset . It has the most beautiful colors that reflect from the sun. Drop by the town of Bedrock on the way there & go visit Fred and the gang. -Suggested tip from Judy A., Safelite associate

Nola Roden

Beautiful views . Recommend taking the shuttle buses . Very informative, helpful and friendly .

Robert Farmer

One of the seven wonders of the world. Enough said....amazingly beautiful and breath taking!

Farah Kazi

Do the boat and helicopter ride. Can skip the skywalk if u want. The view from there is amazing but not allowing cameras is annoying.

Ros Hodgekiss

For a short trip, I recommend joining an early morning air tour to the West Rim. There are no barriers, no crazy crowds and the whole experience is very well organized by the local people.

Alexander Cross

Get up early and watch the sunset , but be sure to take warm clothes as it was literally freezing before sunrise.

Paula Monthofer

When visiting the southern rim, take the lesser driven road to Cameron and be treated to: vistas w/out crowds, Mary Colter Tower, and the incredible view of the canyon sliding into the painted desert.

Ryan Palmer

Don’t just drive around the rim. Take a tour into the canyon and experience the majesty of it all.
