Always worth a quick hike for some misty views . Beware, lots of people and you’ll likely get wet standing near the base of the falls. But great photos and spending time outdoors makes it worthwhile!
Avoid the crazy traffic on east 30 by parking at the lower lot at Wahkeena Falls. Hike the ,2 miles to see Wahkeena and then enjoy the easy .5 mile hike to Multnomah
Multnomah Falls is The falls drops in two major steps between the two so the total height of the waterfall is conventionally given as 189 m Multnomah is the tallest waterfall in the State of Oregon
Breathtaking!!! This view is right behind the visitors center and the walk to the bridge is very short . Go inside the visitors center and read about the history!
Such a great view from the bridge , just a short hike from the bottom viewing area, but many other trails to take up to the top of you are feeling adventurous. Dog-friendly! But gets crowded !
Come early to avoid the crowd. Seeing the falls make you appreciate the awesomeness of Mother Nature!
The hype is real. This is only a 30-40min drive from Portland and so worth it. Go on the early side if you want to beat the crowds and don't forget to hike the trails behind the falls themselves.
Beautiful place. I was in awe all the time I was there; the pictures look amazing. They have a cute little museum and shop, you should check that out.
Totally worth the trip - the hike to the top of the falls is steep and lots of switchbacks . Harder than I thought it would be, but it's free (unless you get trapped buying something in the gift shop )
Make sure to buy your tickets BEFORE you get to the falls or the ticket agent. Go to recreation.gov or download the app for quick checkout.
Spectacular waterfall hike all year round. Take the hike up to the waterfall . Oh nature, you are so wonderful. So very worth the trip.
Breathtaking. Photos just don't do it justice. Be prepared to battle the crowds though. If the lot right off I-84 is full, drive to next exit and take the scenic route back for additional parking .
How can you not give this a great rating? Easy minimal hike , beautiful views . Let it mist on you, it was chilly but wonderful.
Beautiful place in the Gorge! Currently (mostly) closed. But still worth the short walk and view . The trail to the top is what's closed right now.
Be Sure to visit during the week, very crowded on the weekend. There is a snack shop around the backside of the other snack vendors that serves great hot dogs , hard-to-find but is there.
Very sad moment realizing we couldn’t do the hike up to the top because a high schooler started a wildfire in September of 2017 with fireworks that wiped out 50,000+ acres.????????
It's such a beautiful (and strenuous) hike ! Multiple routes with cool waterfall air. Go early in the morning to avoid crowds.
Be sure to come here early! Avoid the crowds and tourists . Go on the bridge as well to get a nice top view . For the adventurists, go to the very top.
Go all the way to the top. Amazing view from above. Try to time your visit to sunset .
Great views , beautiful photos, and you don't need to hike for any of that. It gets even better if you do. Must see if you're in the area!
Wear comfort clothes , hiking shoes , and of course bottle water. It takes 1 and 3/4 miles to reach the top of the falls. It is worth to see stunning view .
Really incredibly beautiful falls! The hike to the top is steep and a bit challenging but worth the view . Make sure to wear good shoes , very slippery in spots.
This waterfall is stunning! Another great spot to hike or jog (1 mile up the mountain to the top of the waterfall ) in lieu of a gym workout. The sweat and the view is worth it...
Avoid the crazy traffic on east 30 by parking at the lower lot at Wahkeena Falls. Hike the ,2 miles to see Wahkeena and then enjoy the easy .5 mile hike to Multnomah
Finding a parking space is tough, but being patient is worth it! Beautiful and state rangers are terrific here; they’ll give you information for all the falls.
Awesome hiking . If you're a daredevil, walk around the scenic lookout and dangle your feet over the cliff. Good luck.
Gorgeous waterfall . Weekends will get really nutty and become a tourist trap. Highly recommend at least seeing it once in your life.
Beautiful views and photo opps. The trail to the top is long, but it's worth hiking a little of it to see some great overlooks.
Incredibly amazing, very scenic - surprised at the crowds for a Monday. But a must see when in the Portland area.
The fires destroyed a lot around the Falls, but the Falls remain and are back open! The bridge is back open!!
The parking lot at the lodge is always busy in peak times. Use the dedicated parking on I-84 to save time. It’s only a short walk from the falls.
Beautiful waterfalls . Super touristy . If you're headed further out into the gorge anyways, it's right off the freeway and worth parking and checking out.
Stunning views of the falls..gets cold in April showers ..come prepared..hard to get parking space on weekends
This kind of beauty is rarely so accessible, so expect crowds until you get well away from the base. The whole area is gorgeous though and basically Rivendell.
Take time on your walk, it's not a long hike . Also make sure to go in any season. It's beautiful no matter what time of the year.
Everything is good here except the crowd. Come early to avoid it. Like 7 am. Really beautiful hikes . I'll be coming back.
Any season, any weather, it's always worth the time and effort to enjoy the beautiful views here! Plus gift shop :P
Go park at the rest area off of I-84 and take the pedestrian underpass to get to the waterfall . An easier way to get back on the highway once you're done.
If you happen to be there in the early afternoon, be sure and hit up the Brunch buffet at the Lodge . Awesome selection of breakfast/lunch/seafood, etc.!
The hike to the bridge near the Falls is easy and worthwhile – may take you less time than finding a parking space !
Hike was worth it but thats just because the hike itself is pretty interesting. The view at the top is pretty crappy actually. Unfortunately you cannot see most of the falls from the top.
I mean, it was pretty I guess? Makes a good instagram photo HA. But was expecting more. Go to Iceland for some truly amazing waterfalls . Nice for a quick hike up.
One of my favorite places in the world. The hike to the top, while difficult, is worth the effort. Sadly I only get to see it about twice a year. :-(
One of Oregon's most famous waterfalls , I suggest combining this with a drive up the Old Cascade Hwy and a visit to the picturesque town of Hood River .
Rivendell does exist ???? though unfortunately due to the fires the trail that leads up to the falls is closed because of dangerous conditions ????
Great photo opportunity . Restaurant next to the falls is a nice respite and has a great view of the falls.
The bridge is really easy to get to and makes for some great photos, but can you climb all the switchbacks to the top?
This is where the sign to turn to get you to the top of the Falls should be! Don't miss the turn
Amazing waterfalls ???????? hiking was fun but breathtaking!
The view , the feeling, overwhelming. Perfect nature spot
Beautiful and quick little hike to see the tops of waterfalls. Excellent! - Andrew Flanagan
Worth the short walk and the uphill return to enjoy the peaceful spot at the bottom of the split level falls - HoverHere
best photo op at the base of the fall.you can get really close to the fall - Keri Ding
Incredible scenic views of the Columbia river highway. Bring your hiking shoes! Foot wear is crucial! - Colin Nelson
Such a special place. Tons of history, amazing views of the falls, delicious food, and great service. - Rob
A beautiful waterfall, a quick walk from Multnomah falls! The walk to the viewing bridge to Wahkeena is quick as well and it's very peaceful once you're on top - Candice Rivera
