The Goldwyn Special Collection is amazing. Movie posters, vertical files on movie stars of yore, screenplays, and theater programs -- you can find them all here. By appointment only, though.
Really I'm the mayor here? That's kind of embarrassing. Anyway, just reserve the books you want online then breeze in & pick them up...badda-bing, you're in, you're out.
This library is very committed to providing safe space for everyone, including those who are experiencing homelessness. Local organizations like The Center do out reach to connect people to services.
Basically an interactive museum . CRT computer monitors, nowhere for me to charge my e-book and laptop simultaneously, and they have a public restroom . I'm going back to Silver Lake .
Hang out spot for homeless people other than that it's cool when you need to use the computers there
they keep the AC on blast and it's like a meat locker in here most of the time. Perfect for these hot summer days!
They have an extensive DVD collection, but for Gods sake prepare thyself; at times it's chock filled with olfactory senses-offending homeless-types.
Lol, leaving a tip for homeless people...you really think that many homeless people are on foursquare?
The best selection of plays other than the Central branch.
Safe? Yes. Smelly? Not really, the library is one of the only where the aforementioned homeless types have a chance to wash up. The real concern from this population is the noise.
Great place but not that safe because of schizophrenic hobos.
Bad place to beg for change if you're homeless. I just put it all in the parking meter.
Love our local branch. Great kids' section, to boot. - Peter Rauh
Quiet reading rooms, clean, nice staff. - Lane Halley
Get the mochi ice cream and the ginger cookies... Delicious - Andrew Le
Heaven on earth. So many records that you can't find elsewhere with such a wide selected. Tons of cool little stuff as well - Annie Tunnicliffe
