Best Mexican Restaurant in NYC by known chef Enrique Olvera. Everything I have tried so far is awesome!! Innovative and delicious.. The Duck Carnitas , the Tlayuda and the corn merengue are a musts.
Worth the 30-day in advance res if you love Mexican flavors. scoville sour with Serrano chili , duck carnitas for 2 (wow), blue shrimp , and husk meringue for dessert . 2 thumbs up
Duck can be shared with 3-4ppl. I could eat 4 broccoli tamales - they were so good. You must get their signature corn meringue dessert . Copia with pineapple purée was small but tasty. BLUE TORTILLA FTW
Cosme is the chic Flatiron District restaurant from Enrique Olvera, one of Mexico's most famous chefs . Standouts include uni tostada , burrata with salsa verde , and the show-stopping carnitas for two. Read more
Gorgeous, sexy space! Amazing tapas-style Mexican, all done with a touch of elegance. My favs: burrata , lobster with mole , meringue with corn mousse ! I may or may not have had 2 of the mousse !
The Uni tostada and duck carnitas were amazing!!! Highly recommend pairing it with an unfiltered wine made from the Mencia grape . Look for the wine , Silice, located under Spanish wines .
Chef-owner Enrique Olvera and chef de cuisine Daniela Soto-Innes won over New York with triumphs like lush, crackly-skinned duck carnitas for two and their cornhusk meringue with silky corn mousse . Read more
Everything here is amazing. The menu changes seasonally but the Arctic char and husk meringue remain staples. Micheladas are great and the butter nut tamal is a favorite. Love sungold tomatoes too. ????
So much yes even years later the menu is great. Contemporary Mexican cuisine which feels very Manhattan meets CDMX chic . Bring your appetite and order as many things as you can on the menu.
It is all delicious! Duck carnitas , endive salad , razor clams all a must. For desert , everyone raves about the husk meringue (and it is v good) but we preferred the caramelised cacao butter.
If I had to tell you what the best dish was, I'd say the cobia al pastor was one of the tastiest things I've had in a long while. Get the duck tacos and the corn husk meringue for dessert .
Super popular place with a different approach to the Mexican cuisine : you'll hate it or love it. Brunch is ok, dinner is a more recommended experience. Reservation is a must. Save room for the churros
Here's what you need to order: Spicy Mezcal margaritas , Cobia Al Pastor , Raw Blue Shrimp and last but not least Crispy Octopus with the heavenly hazelnut mole ???? and the guacamole was delicious too.
Spelt esquites, corn , epazote, castelrosso, chile de arbol. Raw spiced cobia fish and meringue dessert are a must. Skip underwhelming Guac , scallops agua and the uni tostada didn't work for mr
“The entire endeavor might be a very delicious excuse for dessert : a corn-husk meringue with its own hashtag, possessed of an intensely milky taste from the mousse of mascarpone , cream, & corn purée.” Read more
Very trendy without being (overly) pretentious . Small plates to share will set you back >$100/person (+ drinks). Make a reservation a month in advance.
Trendy , inventive Mexican food that is 30% too expensive for small portions -- but worth trying anyways. Awesome tequila / mescal cocktails . Uni tostada with bone marrow and burrita are great.
The food is excellent and you really can't go wrong. Whatever you order make sure you end with the churros - best churros ever ????????
Go, order two cocktails and the merengue. Ask for the bill and thank me later. We had the butter nut tamal , the tataki al pastor , the crab infladita and the duck carnitas . Honestly, not impressed.
Definitely get the Duck carnitas (for 2) to eat and drink the Applebum cocktail ! Extensive wine list ... Be prepared to wait at least 30min after your reso time. Uni tostada was unique for sure!
bottom left (cobia al pastor ) is incredible. crab infladita (crab cake ) is really good. guac is quite good. sweet corn tlayuda (top photo) is good. arctic char is okay. lamb belly tacos are okay.
Carnitas de pato are delicious, but cobia al pastor is the big star here. I recommend try one plate of each section and ask the sommelier about the wine list .
Duck carnitas , Soft shell crab , scallops . All delicious. Restaurant is very trendy and overpriced. Great to try, but it’s not worth the price tag IMO.
The duck carnitas are amazing and The tortillas are the softest I have tasted. We also ordered the hamachi , chicharon , the cobia, and a beet sorbet paired with chocolate , also very good!
Duck carnitas are a “must” and great for sharing (up to 4 people) even though the price has sharply increased in the past few years. We love the “clubbing” vibes on Saturdays.
Stunning upscale Mexican food . Don't leave without ordering the cobia or duck carnitas .
Enrique Olvera brings his vision of modern Mexican cuisine filtered through a global prism to NYC. The stark room and concise menu reveal unexpectedly bright , inventive, and often forceful flavors. Read more
To fight back on prices, split the duck carnitas for 4. Uni tostada actually not as good as the char tostada . Drink the serrano chili cocktail & eat the corn dessert (it's basically cream & merengue)
Beautiful contemporary space and great staff . Must gets: the anti histamine cocktail and the husk meringue . Duck , lobster , scallop etc all good but vibe not right for me.
Some amazing dishes here& strong veggie options . Strawberry gin&shrub is ????. Endive dish (pic) is fresh&smoky at the same time. The corn dessert is mind-blowing. Only drawback - outrageously expensive
The husk meringue is one of the most written-about (and Instagrammed) dishes on the menu at Enrique Olvera’s Flatiron restaurant . Read more

Enrique Olvera's new restaurant . Everything is amazing, from the unreal food to the ambience to the service this place is a perfect 10.
Good for dates , cool but not over-the-top trendy . Cosme is a New York take on Mexican cuisine with a few classics thrown in. Good wine and everyone should try the corn husk meringue for dessert !
The duck carnitas is an astoundingly delicious skillet dish that takes four whole days to prepare, but it’s worth it. Just ask Adele, Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone. Read more
Excellent inventive Mexican cuisine . You can't go wrong with the uni tostada , duck carnitas , or corn meringue . The portions are quite large for sharing plates like the duck and tlayuda .
Upscale Mexican, absolutely delicious. Scallop entree was mind blowing. Everyone gets the duck carnitas for two for a reason. Great for dates and small groups. Cocktails are delicious as well .
Very good but I prefer my Mexican to be more traditional. Short rib taco was our favorite dish.
The entire menu is gluten-free, which was an amazing surprise. Cocktails (the anti histamine and the margarita ) were delicious, as is the duck and the raw sliced fish ! Also loved the tamal .
Come hungry and eat everything. If the cobia al pastor is on the menu, it's a must order. Duck carnitas also lives up to the hype.
The 2015 Eater Awards for New York City awarded Cosme as the Restaurant of the Year. Enjoy a lovely at this restaurant serving contemporary Mexican-inspired cuisine.
The lemon mousse with coconut sorbet , avocado , and marcona almonds was one of the best desserts ever! Cocktails were very interesting and tasty as well .
For dinner , the veggie plates are the stand outs especially the mushroom barbacoa . You have to try the mezcal Manhattan as well ????????????
The Husk Meringue with Corn Mousse is the most instagrammed dessert of 2015, a showstopper born of a happy accident (accidentally crushed pastries filled — on-the-fly — with sweet corn cream). Read more
Really wonderful brunch . Try the duck enmoladas , the tostada , and the chilaquiles :) the sope and nopales salad are also very nice.
The duck carnitas is the way to go. Made to be shared and excellent more than enough for 2. The Husk was very interesting
Came for brunch . Husk meringue is a must try, really interesting blend of textures and flavors. Lamb barbacoa is huge and can easily feed 4 people. Egg sope was good. Enfrijolada was too salty
Olvera brings out just the opposite, a corn mousse with a vegetal sting. Only a sugary husk meringue on top provides the sweet relief this brilliant dish needs. Call it a Mexican pavlova . ★★★
modern take on mexican cuisine . Lotta veggie options . Dig their take on an ol fashioned (with duck fat aka bullet ol’ fashioned?!)
Totally reinventing the wheel each dish is revolutionary. Absolutely the best Mexican fusion not to mention your dinner experience will feel like an amazing eye opener.
