Kapalua Bay Beach

Go snorkeling here! Tons of sea urchins and a good amount of sea turtles . Be careful of the shallow parts on the right side. The water is pretty shallow and you can easily get cut by rocks.

Get there early. Park between Merriman 's and the Napili Kai. Since they got rid of the hotel , there's no more easy parking . Best combo of beach & snorkeling on the west side.

There's a big sea turtle that hides away in an outcropping about mid way between each end of the beach and half way out. Seen him eating a good 10 feet from shore on occasion. You can rent gear too!

The best snorkeling we have found in the area. You will see a turtle or two almost every day. Try Merriman 's for a cocktail and enjoy the sunset view from the first row ♥

Go snorkeling here! Saw a turtle , three(!) different eels , & a ton of fish . Head down while it's raining (you're going to get wet anyways) & you might score a parking spot . Rinse station for your gear

Great beach with good swimming and snorkeling . Parking lot is small but everyone seems to park at the golf course up the road , as did we. (It's free!)

Incredibly calm beach , once you're off the sand, with great snorkeling . Bring your flippers and goggles!

The right side of the beach has some of the best snorkeling you will find on Maui. So many fishes , and turtles ????!

Parking is scarce, even at 9:30 in the morning. Park up the road at the Pineapple Grill parking lot across the street - just go down to the lower parklot and you're basically parking across the street

I'd say the best beach to go snorkling for free on the west coast! Turtles , octopus , squid , and tons of fish to see for free, why not?

Easy snorkeling here. You can see fish , urchin , and sometimes even turtles , within wading distance from the shore. Even better if you swim out around the corner.

Strong current just beyond rock line . Careful. It will pull you out quickly. Save for good swimmers. Closer to beach is calm and good for children.

A lovely beach with fine sand - but when extremely windy, the sand blows everywhere! Set up near the rocky outcroppings at the edge of the beach for a spot with the least wind.

Ahhh-mazing beach . Great sunset watching spot.

Not as windy as some beaches and a very cool backdrop. Water is rocky and there are fish right up to the shore. Cool scene to simply lounge .

Be careful to not get caught in the tide out! They saved 9 different people that day. Don't go out very far and check with the rental folks.
