Must see in NY. I'm not usually the one to visit libraries but this one is worth it! Just wonder around and admire the architectural features and decorations in the various rooms

I visit this place every time I'm in New York. The architecture , sweeping staircases, art , Gutenberg Bible , and Map Room are highlights. But the main reading room always seems to be closed when I go.

Beautiful architecture . A lot of tourists (just like me) in the public are but the study room are always quite and nice. Go there if you really want to have a productive weekend afternoon.

Such a glorious place to crank out your work. But the library 's park is what makes coming here the complete package. especially in the summer when you can get your ping pong and chess on.

One of the beautiful building in the city to visit. Free of charge. If you have kids, don't miss their children library section in the basement . Take a copy of their monthly activity calendar.

Follow signs to the South Court and go down. See where the stone changes from polished white to rough black? It’s the leftover foundation from a giant block-sized pyramid called the Croton reservoir .

Somehow, the 80 people together in a huge room of this Library manage how to keep the quietness of the whole building. It's an awesome place to do some work or simply chill out . A monument to books !

A New York City gem filled with tourists searching for the reading room, the book trains and sharing admiration for the architecture . Lots of great exhibits cycle through so always worth a visit.

One of the most beautiful, peaceful and classy places in New York. Not that peaceful , still a lot of tourists , BUT it’s nice to be in one of the reading rooms.

I work from here everyday. It's the most beautiful home for books I've ever been in. Lots of little places to study and get work done. Free wifi all day!!!

If you need a quiet place to work with WiFi , check out the main catalog room on the third floor (plugs are hidden underneath the wooden tabletops). Or keep walking thru it to the Rose Reading Room.

A historical site . Biggest NYC public library I am aware of, with towering statues and imposing art . Good place to study.

If you need a private place to take a call, the side entrance on 42nd has old wooden phone booths . They’re cramped—but an option in noisy NYC!

Imponente building and richly decorated. Beautiful rooms to read and make researches. I have liked so much some exhibitions that I could attend there.

Beautiful library . Could spend hours exploring the building itself. Definitely worth going to as. New Yorker too. Not just a tourist attraction

This place would be a lovely place to study if it wasn't for the goddamn tourists . If you're desperate, bring a pair of headphones. It can get chilly, so pack a light sweater during the summer.

Beautiful building both inside and out, but as it's so busy with tourists I don't think it would be the best place to read or study! Help support the library by visiting the gift shop on the 1st floor

2nd largest library in the United States , 4th largest in the world. Tip: The best room by far for a New Yorker to escape is the History and Geography room that overlooks Bryant Park .

Great place to get quiet work done, power outlets and good chairs... As long as you don't mind the tourists occasionally walking through.
