Another one of Manhattan 's fine steakhouses . Atmosphere, food, wine , service are all impeccable! A must go if you're visiting NYC! After all, this place was included in The Devil Wears Prada! ;)
Food/service/experience excellent here. We got the porterhouse for 2 & Cajun rib (for 3 of us). Both steaks were perfectly cooked & sides (hash/garlic mashed ) were excellent. Merv our waiter was great
They have one of the best steaks in NYC! My personal favorite is their Cajun rib eye steak ! A fair share of warning, if you are a small eater, share the steak as it is HUGE! Crab cakes is a must!!
Had the porterhouse , at the right temperature we requested (medium, see picture). Delicious, it’s worth the price . The coconut cake is dreamy good!
Great location with great steaks . You need to order everything separately. Service is great, staff is very professional. Expensive, reservation is always needed. Very busy at the weekends.
Very nice traditional steakhouse . Popular with the business crowd. Restaurant week lunch menu is comparatively good. 10oz filet was delicious and perfectly medium rare. Cheesecake ok, it's no Juniors.
A cornucopia of meats and chicken . The S & W burger was cooked to perfection and was great off the bun with traditional creamed spinach on the side. Excellent!
The grill is our favorite lunch spot . The halibut was excellent and so are the burgers and the hash browns . You will love it. Loud .
The fillet mignon was amazing.! It deserves more better rate than it is now for sure.! And no doubt on the dessert coconut cake . I always love the sauce coming with the cake .!:)
A most try if you are visiting NYC for the first time. Better if you have a reservation . Great atmosphere, amazing steak . Side dishes are good for sharing. Highly recommended 👍
The roast beef hash is my favorite dish. So good and so filling. I usually have it with a Rutherford Hill merlot .
A New York classic, even if its not my steakhouse of choice. Definitely worth going to at least once, good food and just awesome New Yorkyness.
The lobster cocktail is great! Wonderful steaks and the best burger in Manhattan. Excellent wines . Try the Smith & Wollensky red, it is awesome.
A classic yet touristy steakhouse in NYC. Standard menu and generally satisfying. I typically go for a porterhouse at spots like this, but I would recommend the Cajun Ribeye instead.
Still super tasty even if you're not a huge meat eater. Can't go wrong with a salad with a side of the super cheesy loaded potato gratin .
This is your place if you already consider yourself a steak lover or want to check whether you have a thing for filet mignon . Remember to share the side dishes- they come in huge!
Love the delicious steamed asparagus with olive oil .
Save room for dessert ! Huge slices of homemade cakes await you - make sure to check out the dessert cart on your way into the main dining area
From the staff to the food, everything about this place is amazing. The steak is cooked to perfection with great dessert drink options.
Get the medium cajun rib with grilled asparagus on the side. And of course, some red wine to go with it.
Classic steakhouse that will never get old. Get the bone in filet mignon and a glass of The Seeker Cabernet Sauvignon
Ask for the pretzel rolls yum. The cornbeef hash appetizer is unbelievable. As is the Mac and cheese . Filet mignon is good.
Pass on the asparagus ... I couldn't even have made it that boring!! Now, on the positive... The filet was awesome, the 4-lb lobster kicked my husband's butt & the coconut cake .... To DIE for!!!

Old name classics in New York for steaks . Make reservation and get the prime ribs
Good filet mignon . Pinot noir was quite delicious. Ordered the coconut cake and the pecan pie . I was hoping for more layers within each one to keep tasting great flavor but were a bit ordinary.
Tuna Tartare to start and Filet Mignon au poivre for main course. Delicious! One of the best steakhouses in the city .
For a business-type dinner I enjoy Smith and Wollensky mostly because you can get in, order and get out in decent time but still feel like you have had a proper dining experience. Really good! Nice wi
Steak done to perfection. Service was spot on and drinks were top notch.
Drinks. Portions are large so maybe skip the starter. My steak was cold on the inside...
Delicious food. We love it. Berkshire pork chop and st Francis cab. Perfect
Smith & Wollensky is very consistent and very good for steak and food. I have never had a bad or steak or anything else here. The service is very up and down. This trip the service was less than super
Save some room for the coconut cake , you won't regret it
Beef ... ambiance, service, the overall experience is outstanding!
The bone in fillet is outstanding. I’m only sad that I was left with one wonderful bone and I have two dogs!
The worst steakhouse I've been to in the city . The best part of the meal was my Caesar salad . Go to Strip House, Keens, Peter Lugers, Old Homestead, 4 Charles, or Porterhouse . Don't go here.
Danny/Daniel is the BEST love him. Always good steak - big enough to take home for another meal. Come here all the time with mom.
Crab cake is great!Coconut Layer cake with vanilla ice cream is also yum!!
Their cajun ribeye was pretty tasty & huge. loaded baked potato was my favorite part ;)
Steak was ok but not that good. We had cajun rib eye , colorado something steak , porterhouse , king salmon , choc mousse and coconut layered cake for dessert . Our only complaint was the waiter !
Classic New York steakhouse with a serious ribeye and some surprisingly good desserts .
The steak was excellent and the hash browns are awesome. Very vintage look inside of the restaurant . Waiters were good had better. The reisling and the filet mignon were meant to be together
Absolutely get the Cajun rib and smith & wollensky private red blend
Great service and the food enjoyed every bite
Try anything - the food and service is awesome. The 2009 cliff lede is stand out good...
Prime Ribsteak. Huge caps. Pittsburgh Char Style. Perfectly dryaged. Not to miss.
Connected to the Smith & Wollensky restaurant , the lesser known grill has its own side entrance and provides a more casual experience at a cheaper price.
Surf and turf sandwich at the cafe is a good option if you want a casual quick meal .
Steaks are unbelievable good. All the portions are huge, be prepared to take home the rest.
The best steak I had in my entire life 👌😋
Get the sautéed mushrooms and creamed spinach as sides. Delicious. - Melissa Chien
Place is trendy, pop music and...food is amazing!!! Order the seabass with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. - Silvia Aki
