The ferry was awesome! Seeing the beautiful New Orleans skyline like this was definitely a highlight of my trip. $2 each way for a quick ride with beautiful views .
It takes you to the other side. If you're about to take this to Algiers to visit Mardi Gras World, don't. It moved to the side of the water you're currently standing on, just further down the river .
The Ferry has been in regular service since 1827, connecting the foot of Canal Street in the Central Business District of New Orleans with Algiers on the West Bank .
Ride so you can say you were on the Mississippi River . It's free and you can take great photos of Algiers and New Orleans from the ferry .
$2 each way. It's only about a 15 minute ride , but pretty cool view . Didn't see much on the Algiers side, so I just rode back.
They make you stay seated now. Used to be able to walk around and take pics outside on the deck.

The ferry will not run in heavy fog, if the orange and white var at the top of the ramp is down, be ready for a long wait .
Take a break from the CBD and French Quarter and check out Algiers Point
Was much faster than expected, and only cost 1$ with car. Can't beat it!!

Two bucks for a seven minute ride across the Mississippi .
Clean and easy to use
Beautiful view over the city !
Now with shorter hours of operation ;(
The only passenger restroom is over the railing of the lower deck :ł
Fun ride back and forth
Free for bikes in both directions. Walk on with cars.
Always a fun free activity with the kids
Chill on the open deck! It's picturesque!
A lady sells pralines at the Algiers ferry landing, most afternoons!
Despite what the signs say, the gretna ferry is not running. Ever
way better than the bridge !
No public restrooms
