Quick and easy access to the French quarter . On busy days use the Le Pass app to pick up tickets. $3 for a 24 hour pass. Lots of free street parking around the ferry terminal, and a large paid lot.
Its free for pedestrians . Great quick way to see New Orleans beautifully lit up at night. The trip across is so fast I thought we were just backing up instead of arriving:) nothing fancy but free
Beautiful and reminiscent of the city 's past, the ferry is always enjoyable. People watching , and bum watching, make for a good time. Just don't ever expect the ferry to be on time.

Cars get off, then bikes , then bikes get on, then cars. If you are walking, don't use the vehicle ramp.
We were asked if we were lost! Very quiet in Algiers. Find an old-timer to explain shotgun and camel-back (houses).

Great escape from the city for a few hours.
If you're a pedestrian , you must walk out the top floor. The workers get very annoyed at telling everyone this.
My boys loved this! Lots of fun.
Take a ferry over to Algiers Point and walk around a typical Old New Orleans neighborhood .
Not a whole lot going on once you cross the river , but still worth checking out.
Best way to beat afternoon rush hour traffic.
