Excellent form of transportation into the heart of the New Orleans if your staying on the other side of the Mississippi River during holidays and/or Mardi Gras.

Brandon Teasley

Quick and easy access to the French quarter . On busy days use the Le Pass app to pick up tickets. $3 for a 24 hour pass. Lots of free street parking around the ferry terminal, and a large paid lot.

Lettie Carter

Its free for pedestrians . Great quick way to see New Orleans beautifully lit up at night. The trip across is so fast I thought we were just backing up instead of arriving:) nothing fancy but free

Aaron Harrelson

Beautiful and reminiscent of the city 's past, the ferry is always enjoyable. People watching , and bum watching, make for a good time. Just don't ever expect the ferry to be on time.

Great view of the city from the river . Definitely worth doing. Grab a beer or bite at Dry Dock on the other side .

A quintessential New Orleans experience . There's something sublime about the crossing when you consider both the romance and unforgiving strength of the mighty Mississippi .

Chris Daley

When you make it to the Algiers side, hit up the Crown and Anchor bar for the a killer beer selection

Cars get off, then bikes , then bikes get on, then cars. If you are walking, don't use the vehicle ramp.

Tony Newling

We were asked if we were lost! Very quiet in Algiers. Find an old-timer to explain shotgun and camel-back (houses).

Yohan Abrahams

Free ride across the Mississippi takes you to Algiers Point a well preserved township time forgot.

Great escape from the city for a few hours.

If you're a pedestrian , you must walk out the top floor. The workers get very annoyed at telling everyone this.

Jaime

My boys loved this! Lots of fun.

Take a ferry over to Algiers Point and walk around a typical Old New Orleans neighborhood .

Not a whole lot going on once you cross the river , but still worth checking out.

Best way to beat afternoon rush hour traffic.

Pete Rau

Free for pedestrians and bicycles. $1 for vehicles.

Hint: the inside lane drives off first.

Devin Walker

The passenger's deck has AC .

Tracy

There's a statue . The end.

The slow boat to China.

Dont be the guy that stands up way too soon.

Fantastic skyline view from here! Best to be photographed in the morning when the sun is still low. Ótima vista dos prédios do centro. Melhor hora do dia para fotografar é de manhã cedo.
