Gorgeous and spacious venue with good sound. Floor seats are the way to go, but you'll have a great time from any seat. Ridiculously easy to get to via BART.
One of the best venues I've ever been to. If you're short , there are two areas with steps on the main floor to try to grab a spot with a good view . Do it during the openers!
Awesome tiered floor. If you’re short (like me), you can probably see the stage if you just stand a bit farther back. Love the decorations here too!
Dope venue, super close to BART. It's huge inside so if you're going for a talk or standup routine, it might be worth it to get seats closer to the front.
Beautiful concert venue . Easy to access. Great food. Try the grilled cheese in the Den!
Gorgeous restored theater, one of the old original Fox theaters with incredible ceilings and architecture of its day. The sound is not up to par for true audiophiles but it's a gorgeous venue. Try it
Beautifully restored venue with all the amenities you would expect. Don't let the location worry you, the neighbor felt safe and was free of the expected "urban decay."
Saw Portugal. The Man. And it was brilliant! This is my second favorite venue now! Love it, the sound was exceptional
1 of my favorite venues . Food, parking , BART make it easy.Seating in the loge & mezzanine preferred. Balcony leg room is cramped. Art deco !!
The balcony seats are very spacious , comfortable , and have cup holders in the armrests. A very nice alternative when you're not in the mood to elbow through the crowd.
Beautiful venue close to Bart with great acoustics .
Great music venue in the uptown district of Oakland. Conveniently located off the 19th BART station . Great places around for a quick bite before the show.
Beautiful movie house converted to a concert venue . Here enjoying Spafford and Umphrey's McGee.
I absolutely love this venue. It's beautiful, well kept, sound is great, and the talent that comes through is top-shelf.
Convenient to SF by way of the BART, Fox Theatre is one of the larger venues here. Balcony is a no-go here, but the terraced floor has amazing views .
They have some amazing artists pop through here, but it’s a small space so keep up with their calendar because seats sell fast.
Great venue for concerts with an amazing architecture , don't miss the ornamental ceiling it's beautiful.
One on the best music venues around. Love the GA experience on the first floor. Great food and drink options near by.
This is one of the coolest concert venues ! Looks kind of like a broadway theater. Get the floor tickets though, balcony is too removed.
My favorite venue of its size in the bay area !
The box office is open on performance dates. Good for getting tickets without paying the online convenience fees.
When it's hot in the Fox, stand over one of the many vents in the floor to cool your junk.
Awesome venue. Tonight we saw Bon Iver. Was really good
for any show, be sure to get close to the stage... away from the morons in the back who won't stop their yapping through every f'in song
Favorite venue in the Bay Area . Beautiful theater, good sound. Get GA/ floor.
No matter who’s coming through town , be it the National or Annie Lennox, they’ve got to stop in at the Fox. Zip there and take in the sights of the Uptown district in Oakland.
Beautiful venue with great sound.
You can find/buy champagne from the Den and walk it into the fox! Generous pours, too (a whole mini selfsize champagne bottle !)
Huge and with amazing interiors.
I was here to watch Blood Orange . Great acoustics in a beautiful venue .
This beautifully renovated theater attracts some really great acts. I got really great seats through Ticketmaster.
Its easy to get to and from the Fox Theater on BART - the 19th St. Oakland BART Station is less than a block away. Read more
They get a lot of great bands but the acoustics and mixing are really, really disappointing. I always leave feeling a little bummed out.
The Fox Theater is the best of the restored mid-size performance venues in the bay area . Get there early and get a drink in the restored bar , marvel at the twin golden statuary with glowing eyes when
Get drunk before you get here. Booz is too much. And bring some peeps, girls are too young here! ;) And enjoy, acoustics are awesome!
Great venue - best air circulation in the Bay but parking can sometimes be a beast.
Beautiful theater, great for all types of shows, never disappointed.
Awesome theater definitely the best one that I've seen in the bay area
Great acts come through. Beautiful Art Deco . Another of Oakland's gems.
There are restrooms on the second floor too, and a bar !
It's great when venues have some seats available for those of us that are too lazy to stand for a show.
They certainly don't make theaters like this anymore. Beautifully restored art deco-ish interior...great place to catch a concert !
Always love shows here — nearby bars are a must before doors.
Seeing CHIC . One of my all-time favorite disco groups!!!!
Get something to eat in The Den and bring it inside if you want. Take a drink to your seat in the balcony . Ask an usher where the smoking areas are.
shows start on time so don't be a slacker or you'll miss your awesome show!
Love this place ! Was here for Metallica this time
FYI... Better to be safe then sorry. Don't park in neighboring back lots. It's a scam and your car will be boxed in and the "attendants" long gone.
Don't forget to visit RockMed if you need anything (earplugs, bandaids, medical attention).
What a beautiful space. It's too bad they continue to get the sound wrong. The performers sound like a garbled mess half the time.
Nice place to get a drink before a concert. Usually has a few simple things to eat. Beats waiting outside in line. - James Fisher
Great room to chill with friends pre-show but the theater also has a nice ambiance to enjoy your cocktails. If I had to pay to get in again I'd pass. - ltrain
Lovely architecture, great landmark in Oakland and good place for a concert. - _
Great food, especially the Philippino dishes. Try the sisig-silog or sisig fries. - Edwin A.
We love the art space- hosted by Tomye- she chooses great selections of art for display!! - Willard Wheaton Davis
Fresh grapefruit is the best for some greyhounds and salty dogs. - Ali Uro-May
Love the salad and chicken tortilla soup borrowed from sister restaurant Tacubaya. The real strength of this menu are the killer tacos. All are good, but I loved the crispy beef and the Vampiro. - Brian Strauss
