This is a Seattle staple- go see a show here. Many famous musicians have graced the stage , and its size keeps the shows intimate . Tip- getting tickets at box office saves tons (no ticketmaster fees).
Great venue, big stage great staff , tripped on the uneven sidewalk, twisted my ankle, scrapped my arm cut my knee, staff medic fixed me up and I made it through the show
Perfect medium size venue. Big enough for the big guys while simultaneously feeling intimate . Saw the roots here on 12/28. Amazing.
It was a small, yet lively up yaself reggae crowd... big up for having a big sound in a small place. Yeeeah!
Awesome venue! Great view of the stage from pretty much any where you stand.
Great venue - not too big so you can still see the stage with a good view .
Great intimate live performance venue. Sexy setting. Not a bad view .
If you get to the "Green Room " bar before they open doors, you can skip waiting in the lines for concerts outside. Bar attenders are given numbers when they arrive that let them into the venue first.
I saw Tim and Eric here a few years ago and the sound was killer. Great sounding venue and a decent staff .
Average acoustics . Don't even think to stay in standing room, too hot. Get to the back bars for better views and fresh air .
Good sound, lots of good vantage points. Rolling Rock/Rainer for $5

Best venue in seattle . Anywhere you stand it's a good seat. Love it!
Don't piss off the door guy, the bartender or the woman at the entry to the women's bathroom......they are all pretty angry here...
From the Jazz Age to the Grunge Era , the storied ballroom has featured shows by touring icons such as Duke Ellington, Muddy Waters and the Ramones.
Amex Travel tip: This art deco gem was integral to the Grunge Era & is the birthplace to bands like Pearl Jam .
Great venue and great staff
You can only have drinks in the bar area. Say whaaaat? (Other than that, fabulous environment!)
It's a little dated but has some charm. The bar locations could be better though.
On 02/11/2011 the Decibel Sponsored Creatures from the Black Abyss Tour stops here! Featuring Cradle of Filth, Nachtmystium, Turisas and Daniel Lioneye
If you get there late, hang out in the bar on the left side of the stage for the best view .
Local legend has it that The Showbox sits atop an underground cathedral built with the bones of failed Seattle grunge bands.
