Chai tow kway . Stall owner here fries it with gusto. Dish is tasty with ample amt of 'chai por' (chopped fermented radish ). Only 1 feedback: Ask him to take it easy w the cooking oil

Cheen The Curious

Prawn noodles . Stall may hv been featured as top 5 in Straits Times (Feb 2019), but soup did not leave an impression. I'll stick with Da Dong (Joo Chiat) & River South (MacPherson)

Interesting flavours fr d fishball noodle stall. She includes meatball , slice of mushroom & fried wantan. Fish - & meatballs appear handmade . Not forgetting fried shallots & lard oil. Yumz!

Cheen The Curious

Roast meats . Surprised to find good BBQ pork (char siew ) from 振興記 stall. Tender & well caramelised. Roast pork (sio bak) not bad too; could be crispier

Cheen The Curious

Laksa (large bowl $5.80). Fresh big cockles from Toa Payoh 94 Laksa . Enjoyed thick milky gravy , enhanced by their chilli paste

Cheen The Curious

Thunder tea rice ($5.50). Clean-tasting meal from C_Homecook (Kulai). Wish the herbal soup could be thicker & more flavourful

Cheen The Curious

Wantan mee . Hougang Ming Ji is operating a stall here (they hv a few incl nearby Toa Payoh Lor 7). Average noodles but dang! their wantans r yummy. Silky smooth skin & fragrant filling

Cheen The Curious

Duck noodles : $3 gets u quite a large serving fr the kway chap/duck rice stall. Generous slices of braised meat

Cheen The Curious

Toa Payoh Bird's Pavilion is right opposite d kopitiam. Daily morning & evening hangout for songbird owners.

Cheen The Curious

A welcome menu extension to the (sometimes) sleepy hawker centre across. 7 food stalls here, most operating from breakfast time

Fishball noodles is gd. Lots of ingredients ($4). Traditional taste . Tried d dry version. Will try Kway Yeow soup another day.

Interesting Bak Chor Mee with lots of ingredients but the taste is so so ..

Prata : Average fare from Haji's Muslim Food. Nothing to shout about abt. Adds variety to a kopitiam that hv predominantly noodle stalls in the morning

The prawn mee stall from lorong 8 market has moved here.
