I planned on visiting for 2-3 hours as I only had 1 day in Houston. I ended up spending 6 hours. The 2 tours are worth it since they lead you into the NASA facilities.
Show up early to avoid lines which build during the day. Overall great day excursion, If over the age of 14 the level 9 experience probably makes sense if you are willing to pay a bit extra.
Buy tix online (save $5), eat before you go (expensive considering choices), do the tram tour , go as soon as they open to avoid the crowd and on Fridays you can meet an astronaut...you're welcome!
For tours , exhibits , and IMAX movies galore, visit Space Center Houston! The tram tour is my absolute favorite – sometimes you even see the astronauts and crew training !
Blue tour is only 1 stop at the rocket park . Takes about 40 minutes. Red tour is longer but most wait times are 1.5hrs on weekends.
It is a museum , try not to think of it as a theme park and you’ll have a great time. The new Apollo 50th Anniversary Command Center is the best! Reserve your tour the minute you get there!
If you plan on taking the tram over to the Johnson Space Center (and you should!), get reservations so you don't have to wait. Also, bring a pillow to sit on, as the tram seats are very uncomfortable.
If you want to go to the Mission Control tour - go to the little computers just past the help kiosk and get your free ticket first. They run every 30 minutes, but you can’t get on the team without it.
What a great museum ! You can spend a whole day here. Tram tour to the control room and rocket exhibition was my favorite.
Get tickets online ahead of time. Timed tickets for tram & orbiter tours are limited quantities, but you avoid the lines . check for discounts . got $5 off per ticket www.tickets.spacecenter.org
Book the Simulator ride prior to visiting. Book yourself on the tour to the actual rocket launch site. PRO TIP: Get the tickets off www.rush49.com at a discounted rate. You can thank me later.
The exhibits were well maintained and current. The best was the historic white tram tour of the control room, a must see!
April is the best season(weather )to NASA. No waiting in line . Save time to join team tours .
After visiting hundreds of museums in the world and in the different continents, this is the most interesting one since still millions of things to discover...
For tours , exhibits , and IMAX movies galore, visit Space Center Houston! The tram tour is my absolute favorite – sometimes you even see the astronauts and crew training !
Gets busy, little direction on things to do, but definitely a worthwhile experience. Make sure to get your mission control ticket (free) first.
Nice day out with the family or for those with an interest. Spend a full day to see everything. Worthwhile if you have a half day as well .
If you're over 25, I'd skip most of the exhibition which is geared towards kids and get onto the tram tour !
I've been going here since I was a small person. Nothing has changed in years except the touring shows. I always hope for something bigger and more grandiose from a Smithsonian Institution.
Some great space artifiacts are in the Starship Gallery . Apollo 17, the last manned spacecraft to orbit the moon is there. You can skip the video and get right to the space goodness.
The NASA team at SCH was so friendly ! If you are early, 9am you see more! I had a private tour of the exhibits just because no one was there yet!
Come early to catch all the shows & the tours that are included in the price. If you come in the PM, you might miss a lot. Kid friendly
Tram tour is mandatory, although its queue was way to long.. But you can always take the VIP tour if you have an extra money ????
Be sure to take the tour at Rocket Park . Fascinating info on the Apollo flights and a full scale Saturn V rocket
Huge disappointment. Looking for a cool place to experience the history of space flight, this isn't it! The space shuttle is a replica as are most items on display. Tram tours disorganized. Sad.
The Level 9 Tour isn't cheap , but a real tread for every Space fan. You get a lot closer to the things than with the other tours . I recommend not taking the tour during Holiday season.
"MUST SEES" never let me down. Recommend you taking the tram tour , approximately 90mins for a whole trip.
Great fun. Flight simulator is awesome! Tram tour to Mission Control was great. Loved seeing the Saturn rocket too!
You may be limited in your experience if you have a baby/stroller. You have to leave your stroller for potential sticky fingers for the tram tours . Still fun for the kids.
Very informative and interesting...come early to experience the fun and excitement
Go early and take the 90 minute tram tour before the line gets too long
Great information about our current manned space program as well as historical information. Be aware that gravity is in full effect.
Take the trams to Mission Control and the Saturn Rocket
After see everything at the museum , go to the NASA tram tour the visit the buildings and see what NASA is actually working
Great play zone for kids up to 56" . Can bring up balls to the 2nd level to use on slingshot!
Science and technology. One must visit. Rocket park is very special.
Excellent!! Rocket park is wonderful. Saturn V launcher is really amazing. Must watch for all.
If you live close to Houston or plan to visit again in less than a year, get the membership!!! It is also good for the parking lot !!!
Here lies history. Mission control and Satrun V are must. But you can find much more artifacts at Smithsonian.
Make sure you have plenty of time to explore, there are plenty of things to do to take up a full day - especially of you have young kids with you!
Tram tour is good. All the displays and accompanying videos are very informative.
If you are in Houston you have to see this place . A lot to learn
Very spacious and lots to see. Come on weekends and expect a little more volume.
Get there when they open, or become a member and skip the tour lines .
A must for anyone in town . The gist shop is amazing also.
The place offers information about the space exploration, about the sciences and people that were and are contributing to this endeavour.
The angry bird play room and the space station i loved it♡♡♡♡♡♡
Be sure to get on bus tour before 15:30. I couldn’t get at 15:30 so had to come next day and was surprised I couldn’t get there with my city pass second time. That is weird and disappointed..
It was a cool experience.....do everything from 3S shows to the tram tour....and just everything !!
A must see and take time to enjoy this entire museum .
Great tour- only wish the wait were a bit shorter, and the speakers on the tram weren't as loud! - Fernando Covas
So cool! I really enjoyed it, during holiday season it’s super crowded, so be aware of that - Tania Platero
Very family oriented, a variety of different exhibits and experiences for kids and adults of all ages. The tram is essential, do not miss the tour(s)! - Mark Gouldsmith
If you are a fan of Star Wars, you will probably spend a hour or two just in this gallery! - Cenker Köse
Fun for kids and adults alike. Fun interactive areas for kids to explore, experiment, and make believe. - Eric Pan
I like the NASA Place, it's worth to go and have a look especially when you into Tech or SiFi - Alexander Büch
Simple rocket on the road that you can park near. You can see how HUGE they are and touch them! - Laura Helfrich
Awesome and informative experience. Not for everyone though. Will be great for history lovers. - Jared Jarvis
