The Angel

30 August: Admire the view that inspired Turner . It was here that JMW Turner observed the Temeraire being tugged to be broken up in 1838, inspiring the painting which hangs in the National Gallery .

This place is best in the summer where you can sit outside in the sun and then watch the sunset over London.

An inn was built here in the 15th century by the monks from Bermondsey Priory. It’s said the crew of the Mayflower were recruited here, and it’s from where Turner and Whistler drew the river .

Great for a quiet spot in London, lovely little pub with some old features still remaining. Watch the sunset over some Organic lager ;-)

Always a great place to stop on a wander along the Thames , cheap beer , great view and fairly quiet (even on a bank holiday)

The view is awesome. Check the back of the bar , specially at night. Also, the staff is incredibly nice. ????

Doesn't seem like much from the outside but this Samuel Smith's pub has incredible views of the Thames from the upstairs back room. The ale is very cheap here too!

I had to tell the cool that Quinoa burgers are only vegan if you do not cover them with Mayo . At least sending it back meant it came out hot the second time.

Cheap Alpine is always good but not being able to eat on the terrace was a massive bummer, after seeing everyone else eat out there we were stopped and told some health and safty guff,thumbs up though

Come for roast Sunday's. Affordable. Good view . Great people.

I wasn't too happy with the pie I got from here. Tasted like it had been frozen for a very long time.
