Fantastic view of the Sound with a really neat lighthouse . I hope the city will do more to make the buildings look less dilapidated and perhaps include a museum in the near future.
It's a long hike to the lighthouse from general parking . All uphill back. Closest lot is by Daybreak Cultural Center . Permit parking and 2 handicap spaces only at bottom of drive near lighthouse .
I've long wondered what a cell-phone tower looking thing was behind the lighthouse at Discovery Park . Turns out it belongs to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a weather device. Read more
Beautiful views . A bus ride from the visitors center will take you to the beach for free.
Park and walk all the way out to the lighthouse . Get the lighthouse and Olympic Mountains in frame. You can take it from either side, depending on where the sun is. This is spectacular at sunset .
