The coolest park in Seattle . Watch the sunset over the Olympics. Take a 3-mile loop hike that feels like you're in the rainforest. Head to the beach and lighthouse if you have time.

Walk the loop! It's got great views . If you don't have a dog with you, head downtown one of the beaches - it's gorgeous, and the trip adds about 30 flights of stairs to your excursion.

Although the park has a beach it's not a prime spot for swimming as the water's cold & the beach rocky. One trail extends to Puget Sound & after a lengthy walk you'll find a lighthouse and tide pools .

Discovery park is located on the historic grounds of Fort Lawton. It is 534 acres with nearly 12 miles of hiking and walking trails for you and your dog to explore. Please bring a leash and poo bags!

Trails in the middle the city make it feel like you are out in the woods. Took the trail all the way down to the beach .

Get lost and find your way back. Head out during low tide and explore the beach . If in season, salmon berries are delish (if you like it tart + sour).

Little known fact about this park : During WWII it housed Italian prisoners of war. There was a controversial riot between African American prison guards and the Italian POWs.

Park at the south parking lot and walk to the center field to let dogs run around. Follow multiple trails down to the beach !

Real awesome place to hangout and enjoy the sunset and peace

Keep your eye out for bald eagles on the south beach trail . They like to hang out in the wooded area overlooking the sound.

Park at visitor center. Walk down past the north lot to the south beach and up back through hidden trail . Will take about 1.5 hrs.

In the summer, sit on a bluff and watch as all the cruise ships leave for Alaska between between 4 and 6pm

Tons of trails and very close to home.

It's way more beautiful than the South Beach in Miami (and there's way fewer douche bags walking around).
