Fishball noodles . Hup Kee Teochew Fishball Mee #02-38 serves comforting bowl of noodles . Got the basics right: noodles cooked right & fragrant, fishball bouncy to chew, smooth her giao (fish dumpling )

Cheen The Curious

There's an escalator in the middle of the building, connecting wet market @ 1st floor & food centre above. There r also fire escape stairwells @ each corner of the structure

Cheen The Curious

Beef brisket & tendon noodles ($8). Aromatic sauce from Lao Jie Fang #02-15. Beef brisket & tendon were well stewed , and easy to eat since chef cuts them into bite sizes. Recommended!

Cheen The Curious

Fishball Noodle . The main differences between A) 新路 02-05 & B) Hup Kee 02-38 are A’s fishballs are more substantial (less water used), sweeter chilli , but serves no ‘he giao’ (fish dumpling )

Cheen The Curious

Local desserts . Sing Heng #02-25 offers the whole menu, from red/green soup , to ice kacang, to ice jelly w sea coconut , to bubur chacha. There’s even sweet corn , & soursop w peach !

Cheen The Curious

Lor mee ($3.80). Hoping to fill void left by Hai Tang Lor Mee , Hui Wei #02-14 main feature is the crispy fish fillet ; enjoyable bites. Bigger $4.80 bowl comes with sliced braised pork

Adrianna Tan

My personal loves: Ah Pang for old school hotpot (amazing soup and chilli ), the lor mee shop is the only one my hokkien family doesnt complain about and the horfun at Shi Yun is stellar.

Cheen The Curious

Vegetarian options : prata , thosai, beancurd , chee cheong fun , yam cake , yutiao, fried carrot cake , fruits , local desserts , yong tau foo , kueh, chwee kueh, peanut porridge , pumpkin cake

Cheen The Curious

Local coffee . Enjoyed a kopi-O kosong ‘di lok’ (undiluted, $1) from Kopi Soh #02-03. Thick, bitter & aromatic. Like sipping espresso

Cheen The Curious

Duck noodles . No Signboard Braised Duck Noodles 02-04 serves old school style. Meat is tender, sauce tasted thick & smooth

Cheen The Curious

Fishball fans usually make a beeline for 新路 Fishball Noodle 02-05. Very condensed flavours with each bite

Hup Kee Fishball Mee hails from the old Margaret Drive Food Centre. Son took over from parents and food is still good!!

Some stalls are from ex Margaret drive hawker centre like sin kee chicken rice . Braised duck stall not bad, however Hokkien mee & chicken feet horfun are pretty average despite newspaper accolades.

audrey leong

Phoenix carrot cake . Smallest portion 1.50, but without egg . 2.00 with egg Never debate with the lady boss of the store and ask to pay 1.50 for carrot cake with egg . You'll be sorry if you did. ;)

jovan zh

Hai Tang Lor Mee is a MUST TRY. Go for lesser noodles and top up with ingredients... It is worth it. :)

Fil .

👲: Sin kee famous chicken rice is located here 🍗 !

Juliana

add-on: think the 02-02 fried dumpling (Guo tie) is better than the steamed dumpling (jiao zi).

Tze Yong Ng

Ah Pang Seafood serves nice homey steamboat . Airy surroundings. More than enough seats, coz the rest of the food centre shuts down at night.
