Chicken rice : Locals tell us Tong Fong Fatt #01-49 is d best of all their branches in SG. After ordering a few plates, we agree! Definitely better value than Loy Kee @ Balestier!

Saw people order semi-cut open durian from popular Ah Seng Durian stall at wet market and carry a small basket (as tray) with durians and dine at hawker centre as fruit / dessert after proper meal.

After 48hrs of fluid meals post-tooth surgery, I finally can naturally bite soft vegetables and slices of fish meat from this delicious bowl of Bittergourd Fish Soup-style Porridge when its chilled.

Unless u r willing to queue, else there is no way you can ever taste the hugely popular char Kway teow . Duck rice , heaven's Indian curry dosai, hor fun are other good options.
guan kee char kway teow , char siew rice from jiu jiang shao la, ghim moh chwee kueh , tadpole burbur chacha from golden swallow desserts - they are some of the best in their own leagues!
Hokkien Fried Prawn Mee 01-07 is generous with ingredients otherwise. Lots of egg . Very wet style. No fried pork lard cubes (la pok) though
Good kopi from V.O. Mohamed Kassim. Order the Kopi-O Gao (thick black coffee ). Probably the only stall at Ghim Moh market where their coffee doesn't smell stale
Ah Bo Ling (glutinous rice ball dessert ): #01-43 serves w peanut soup . Family voted dat Maxwell Rd Mkt was more delicious & fragrant. Still makes gr8 snack when u dun want any of savoury fare here

Jiu jiang shao la is the best roast duck in Singapore. Really! A bit salty but full of flavour because they have a real charcoal roaster.
The renovated market & food centre has re-opened at its original place on 1 Mar 2016. Some of the food items have increased price by S$0.50 O.o
