Good stuff! My roommate from Mississippi didn't think it was real authentic... but I don't care cause I liked it. I got the gumbo yaya, pretty good. The cornbread and hush puppies ... eh?
Was brought some gumbo from The Gumbo Pot. Excellent! When I can eat more some time in the future, I will!
OK, resting on its laurels though. Kinda taking the just feed the tourists approach vs. really trying to create great Cajun found experiences. Should focus more on quality vs. quantity.
Get the crawfish pie , but skip the jambalaya
Go with the Cajun meatloaf Po'boy w/ BBQ sauce , cornbread , and an order (4!) of beignets . Throw in a pitcher of Blue Moon from a neighboring vendor and you are SET.
Shrimp Po Boy is decent or the soft shell crab .
Try the Beignets - So delicious! #dessert #yummy
Seafood Gumbo is a great pescatarian option.
The food is OK...the breakfast selection was limited, but the creole poached eggs atop the cornbread with charon sauce were pretty good. Skip the potatoes , they are basically cut up steak fries . I s
The mixed po boy was good, the cajun meat pie is woo good, the blackened chicken po boy a no no, the chicken was dry & hard.
Shrimp Po'Boy ($8.25) from The Gumbo Pot
Skip the po boy - all bread ....
The is great!
Food is pretty good. Servers are rude. Make sure you leave with everything you ordered.
Good coffee
Chocolate beignets were just okay
Long lines don't always equate to good food. Case in point... Better off going anywhere else in the Farmers Market .
Absolutely terrible. The server was not knowledgeable of the menu and really messed up my order and then weren't accommodating AT ALL. Food was an insult to my creole heritage.
fresh, hot beignets !
So many better places at the Old Farmers market . Pass on this.
Jumbalaya in two levels of spicy ! Wow
Make sure to try the alligator !
NO. I am really sad to say that this is not cajun food , wrong flavors :( I didn't try any of their fried foods, maybe that's what's good here?!
come for the freak, stay for the Jambalaya
Get extra cornbread . Take some home to share.
Gumbo Ya-Ya was more like Gumbo No-No. Potato salad tasted like paint. Couldn't eat. Pick another vendor.
No order is complete without chocolate beneigts
Used to be better...now service AND food suck. Poached egg was overcooked - had to bring it back and they didn't even apologize. Catfish po' boy sandwich was all bread ...barely any catfish .
This Gumbo is the real thing.......however, didn't see the crab meat as advertized
Was not a fan. If you've ever had beignets in New Orleans at Cafe du Monde you will be disappointed with these for sure!
Gotta try the fried okra
The name is deceiving. They DO NOT sell pot here.
Avoid. The gumbo had almost no meat and is costly.
Hoping the food is better than the service...zero personality.
Do not eat here...the food was very bland...both times...
Worst Soft-Shell Crab Po Boy ever. Stay away
Мне не понравилось. Заказала гамбо с морепродуктами , дали кучу риса с салатными креветками . Вернула. Не вернусь.
Love Monte Cristo here. Open 24/7 which is good. Nice area in general with lots of shopping and food nearby. Kind servers. Sit outside! - Holly W.
The salsas are amazing...several different flavors to choose from - Kerry Morrison
Larger selection then the one in Pasadena. But Pasadena is still my favorite. - Oscar Zaldana
Must get the soft shell crab po'boy! And the craw mac is heavenly. - Carms
Get ready to get messy! Had the bucket of shrimp w original (Louisiana style) flavor and Cajun fries and they were delish! - Robin Z
Very large main courses so bring your appetite, order one main course with several sides and share OR prepare to take home a doggie bag. Fried catfish and shrimp are worth breaking any diet! - Camilla Nelson
Very nice and iconic shopping center. Nice variety of high end and more affordable shops. Amazing options for food in the farmers market. Can get crazy busy and be hard to quickly get in & out of - Michael Morgan
Shrimp po boy, bbq ribs, beer then followed by a crepe. Love the food - Sokko Kong
It's a great place to watch any movies. I usually get a tasty dinner at the Farmers Market nearby and then come here to watch a movie. They have a large selection of current movies and showings. - Gabriel Kim
