Recommend the wild boar , pork & apple burger . Black pudding , roasted apple and a free range egg . Accompanied by choice of potato and a whopping onion ring .

Seriously people, get some more staff behind the bar and try and get the order right. If I wanted diet coke I would have asked for it. Listen to your mayor.

If you see no one at the bar then order a drink quick! Never enough bar staff at this place. Nice ales and they accept a camra discount

The food is ok, some dishes are excellent. Watch your bill if you're doing the set menu , of the 7 times I have been here they have got it right on only two occasions.

If you have a Tesco clubcard, you can convert your vouchers to 4x their value to spend on food at any Chef & Brewer establishment.

Great food at very reasonable prices and LOTS of choice on real ales ! (OK, it's also my local as well !)

Gormless staff - okay food.

Waited far too long not to get served. Left to go somewhere else, waitress said, "is everything alright sir", what do you think? If you want to eat that evening, don't go here!

The lunch time meal deal is less than £6 for some nice mains!
