Omelet with gruyere , sautéed spinach and mushrooms with roasted potatoes , crunchy toast and whipped butter $16. Good option for comfort food or when you can’t wait that long for Dudley’s
This place is outstanding! The cozy vibe makes it very welcoming. Loved the Eliminator cocktail and the marinated herring . They do not take reservations but you can call 20 minutes ahead
A great place to bring a date, nice ambiances, great German food and drinks. Their sausage sampler is taste great. Yes this comment is coming from a guy. Recommend their liverwurst side dish/snack
Did someone just say “Apfelschorle”? YUM 😋 so happy I came here. Can also really recommend the Emmental sausage and the cheese Spätzle
Excellent service ! Interestingly run by Spanish speakers- at night they play Latin music . Food is so delicious- the schnitzel , bratwurst , and pretzel (a bit small). Their mustard was so spicy
Portions are huge. If you're vegetarian try the cheese Spätzle , otherwise the Schnitzel . (Austrians / Germans eat more than just sausages !)
The bratwurst is simple and amazing! Great place for an intimate meal. They open up the big windows when the weather is nice out!
Great food in an attractive , comfortable setting . Excellent service . The Aufschnitt Teller is easily shared by two or three and includes absolutely superb pork belly .
Deutche pub/bar/restaurant, where you can get beer in same size as in October fest in Deutcheland. And apple strudel is 🔝
Great & friendly service of delish Austrian comfort fare. I enjoy the Schnitzel and Austrian Lager here, in a neighborhood steeped in German history.
You cannot go wrong with their schnitzel or any of their sausage platters . Make sure to have some spätzle while you're at it!
The liverwurst patte appetizer is a must. The Reuben easily feeds 3 or 4 people, huge and heavy dish.
Consistently the best and most lovingly prepared food, best ambiance-- best everything-- in the neighborhood or probably in downtown Manhattan entirely
Big beers and always fun times. Don't miss the blintz for brunch , with a side of mini-brats.
The beef goulash was really tasty! Big chunks of tender beef and spatzel slathered with a rich, meat sauce.
The service, the food, you really can't go wrong. The spaetzle and pretty much any sausage on the menu are ridiculously amazing. If its your birthday, prepare for something special...
No worries, their brunch wouldn't disappoint you. Their french toast is amazingly crispy outside and so soft inside.
Intimate space with happy staff . Love the red cabbage salad , meatballs , and can happy eat the sausage platter for two all by myself. Don't miss White Asparagus season .
Probably everything. Had elderflower lemonade and kale salad with schnitzel will be back for more!
The staff were very friendly . But the authentic Austrian food takes reign in this cute little Austria in the Lower East Side! A MUST! It's become our favorite! (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
If you're a liverwurst fan, definitely come here. Pair it with a pretzel or the sausage sampler , and you'll leave happy and full.
Brunch is good get the creamed spinach and try the mini-brat
Recommend the sausage sampler ! All the sausages were tasty! Liverwurst appetizer was great too.
The sausage plate for two is always a good bet, a plate piled high with sausages , pork belly and delightfully tangy quark dumplings . Read more
excellent austrian food and charming service - ruben sandwich is for 2 people, loved the spatzle , sausage sampler , pickle platter
Food, service, drinks, atmosphere so simple and perfect
Good stuff here. Shnitz plate is pretty bonerrific. The cranberry sauce is drinkable. Wouldn't recommend the brat platter - kind of sloppy and boring. Beer selection is on point, solid pricing too.
White asparagus ! And schnitzel . Always amazing.
Really liked the decor and service, not to mention the food was excellent.
Solid German food . Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. 😋
Where else are you going to get Austrian food that isn't just schnitzel ? Nowhere, I say; this is where you want to eat!
Meatballs and schnitzel !!! Also get the white asparagus if they're in season
Schnapps is my new favorite drink apparently. The food was great too- HUGE portions !
Best schnitzel in New York! (Also, don't miss the Kartoffel and cucumber salad , the pretzel , and the Spätzle .)
Pretzel was pretty good. Sausage and sour kraut is my recommendation.
Delicious food - cheese spaetzle is to die for, great beers , and super friendly staff make Cafe Katja a neighborhood gem .
Cheese stuffed sausage and beef goulash were exceptional.
Great austrian food . First time trying it, was delicious!
Try their extensive selection of schnapps with some white asparagus !
A big bowl of soft buttery spatzle is dotted with snow peas and shiitake mushrooms while the seared salmon is unbelievably smoky Read more
Authentic Austrian food in the Lower East Side, get the sausage sampler , cheese Spätzle , and one of the Austrian beers on tap .
Amazingly friendly staff and delicious Austrian food (I daydream about it). Get the meatballs and wash them down with some bier .

Perfect for a casual brunch to catch up with friends. Yummy spatzle , cute decor, and the nicest service ever!
The pretzel and spreads, Australian meatballs and smoke salmon with white asparagus is off the chart!!
Ask for Naomi. Drink a boot of beer .
The austrian meatball entree is amazing - paired perfectly with mashed potatoes and veggies . A different style from The Meatball Shop but just as good! Read more
Fantastic Austrian food ! Start off with their warm pretzel that comes with delicious cheese and mustard . FYI, it's a small restaurant that doesn't take reservations . Great prices and amazing food!
1/2 liter of grapefruit beer ? So good. Order the Schofferhofer if you like fruity beers !
Authentic Gluhwein and delicious pretzels imported from Germany
Great atmosphere, although there's often a wait. My usual is weisswurst (which comes with a warm soft pretzel), strong coffee, and a slice of sachertorte. - Sarah
Comfy beds. Good food & drinks. Great downtown location. Hip, but not inaccessible. Sam at the front desk is the bomb. Will definitely return. - Lauren
Flavor Profile - asked for gin, cucumber and fruit puree. Got the best cocktail - with strawberries, not overbearing, and refreshing. Not sure it was worth the $16 and 1 hr wait .... - Wendy Qiu
The grilled cheese is really good and filling!!! Best grilled cheese I've ever had, you must try it! - BaxterTheBoss
Took two tours - Highly suggest a visit to this museum. It was awesome and each tour guide was passionate, well informed and interesting. - Faith Kasten
