The mozzarella&prosciutto antipasti are fantastic. I had the Chilean sea bass , melt in your mouth amazing&my bf got the seafood risotto , fantastic & to top it all off the tiramisu was unbelievable.
For her 49th birthday on Jan. 17, the first lady had a special menu of fusilli with veal ragu , roasted tile fish with fennel and thyme puree and ricotta cheese mousse with carmelized pear . Read more
If you're not with group or in need of a table, sit at the bar and let Ringo take care of you. Best bartender/waiter in DC. He knows the menu and the wine list and has NEVER steered us wrong.
Authentic , delicious food, only outdone by the welcoming and personalized service found at perhaps the most consistent restaurant I have encountered. Read more
definitely a "Who's Who" of DC. Sat next to Greg Monroe (former member Georgetown basketball , current Detroit Piston) twice and current Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel. food and atmosphere are great
Pasta : perfect portion (think non-American), excellently cooked (al dente done properly) and exquisite flavour.
Amazing food with an authentic Italian staff . The food and wine list is superb.
one of my favorite, if not number one, restaurant in America. Place to celebrate, impress, enjoy and have a marvelous meal with family and friends
"My favorite DC restaurant . I once accidentally sat down in the lap of the Archbishop of Canterbury during a Sunday brunch there." — Christopher Hitchens
Maître d’ Laurent Menoud has been Cafe Milano’s gatekeeper for 14 years. Among the guests he’s seated are Michael Jordan, Renée Zellweger, former vice president Dick Cheney and Pope Benedict XVI.
Authentic , delicious food ,for special occasions this is the right place for dinner ..
The wine list is great and the pasta is even better. It’s a local favorite for politicians, too.
Food is always great and the atmosphere good for work or romance. Order the veal parmesan even though it isn't on the menu.
The fusilli w/ Ital sausage and mushrooms melt in your mouth. The organic live oil is some of the best I ever tasted! Nice service, and dressed impeccable too.
Expensive, but worth it. Try the steak . And mozzarella with tomatoes for starters. Good wine selection too.
Desert service was quite good with Italian silverware including real dessert spoons (not tea spoons)! But the dessert itself (creme caramel espresso ) was nearly acceptable.
This particular visit, the food wasn't perfect, but the service was exceptional. Would have appreciated a manager inquiring about our status. Pro tip: Don't judge a book by it's cover.
Perfect way to rescue from my so-so day: Artichoke flavored pasta with braised beef short ribs and truffle mushroom .
Best Italian food in DC. Excellent service . You will not be unsatisfied. :-)
The food makes up for the inattentive service. Also, leave room for dessert !
good place to start the night. come for dinner and/or drinks. always enjoy people watching and mingling here...steak salad is delicious.
Get the Veal bolognese . The waiters tell you it's their best dish and it is!
Get the baba for dessert . Amazing.
I can forget the la scala pizza and Iceberg Spagetti.
Delicious black truffle risotto . Sit outside if you can. Winning ambience!
Octopus salad appetizer is only surpassed by the legs of the clientele.
The steaks at Morton's (next door) are superior, but this place is still tops for wine , service and atmosphere!
Food is average. Highly OVERrated. This place is a classic DC power haunt. You go here more to see/be seen vs. any extraordinary meal you might enjoy.
Best Italian
Good, but may be a bit overrated as far as food goes. The wine list is top notch though as far as Italian wines go.
The Tortella Barba was awesome (and seasoned perfectly)!
Bronzino was excellent. Also not on the menu but ask for grilled calamari .
Once again for special occasions this is the right place for dinner
Always great service and a buzzing atmosphere.
Ossobucco was amazing! Now waiting on my dog to give an opinion on the bone (3 or even 4 grrs?)
Restaurant is too large; too busy. Quality of food and service takes a bit of a backseat to restaurant 's obvious desire to pack 'em in. Skip the high priced dishes (veal , truffles ) and just have fun.
The place to be for good dinner with quality food
The environment, food... This place is a classic! Even the first lady says so
Excellent food. Try the milanesa steak .
Great food, great cocktails , great people watching ! You'll always run into someone you know here!
Cobe steak . Veal Milanese .
Chilean sea bass !
Best Italian in city . Straightforward, excellent ingredients, simplicity. Risotto is to die for; amazing wine selection Read more
The place to be for lunch on a weekend
Every time I've been here, it's been stuffy. Good people watching
Great calamari and pasta...oh, and wine
They have really good pizza here.
Nothing is good here. The Carpaccio is supposed to be raw and was cooked and with a horrible taste of tuna (like canned tuna ). I ordered veal chop and was over cooked and unsalted.
Once again the right place to go to
I wish their bar-r (Julia) improve her poor service skills. If u are @ the half empty bar it takes 20 min to acknowledge you. you have better chance to get a nice table then get your drinks from her
The eggplant parm is amazing. Great garlic bread. Love the pistachio gelato. - Robin's Travels:
The pizza is sooooo soft and delicious! The Regina has perfectly melted ricotta cheese on it...yum!! - Mariya Dvoretskaya
It's great dinner spot! Warm and cozy areas for both dining and meeting for a cocktail. The service is excellent from valet to the busboys. The food was amazing; I highly recommend the lobster ravioli - Theo Bell
Burgers and sandwiches (French Dip etc) are excellent. Festive atmosphere especially during the holidays. - Peter Blumberg
You have to try the seasonal cupcake, butterscotch and carrot are quite tasty, red velvet and chocolate are yummy #cravingformore - Aleso
Great service! The employees here are very attentive and helpful, and they do it with a smile! - KaMaria Bain
