Nice and classy place . Personally I like knowing the history of the place, such as all the presidents who've eaten there.
Try the Welsh Rarebit - a cheddar sauce enriched with lager and spices. Enjoy it as an appetizer or order it with the Martin’s Delight, the house version of a Hot Brown . Via City Eats.com Read more
Delicious! Get the crab cakes . The steak salad was good but average. Don't miss the booth where JFK proposed to Jackie!
The oysters in the oyster stew were the best I've ever had. Brunch served every day and, like everyone else has said, full of history. What's not to like?!
The atmosphere is intimate and warm. Patrons enter via leaded glass doors into a dining room steeped in tradition. Dark wood paneling features plaques marking the favorite booths of famous senators.
Honored to be at Martin's in Georgetown. What a great place to celebrate the rich history of our Country !!! The atmosphere is great!!!
their hot brown is quite famous! my friend had it and loved it. we were there for brunch . a chill place to have brunch !
The burger was amazing and I enjoyed the Ambassador Cocktail . Great service and atmosphere!
tavern burger with avocado & bacon was tasty ???? but the chicken sandwich was not so good. prices are little bit high, service was slow and at the end they told us we can not split the check☹️????????
Everything is great, but especially love the chowder . Excellent bartender and staff , be sure to make a reservation .
Truly just a fantastic restaurant with wonderful historical value and superb staff who will share stories.
This nostalgic tavern is cramped and crowded , with decent comfy food but mediocre service. Kids options if you ask, but not conducive for tots . Try salmon salad , seared tuna salad , burger or meatloaf .
Social distancing and other COVID-19 practices are excellent. Food and atmosphere are comforting. Service is top notch.
Burgers and sandwiches (French Dip etc) are excellent. Festive atmosphere especially during the holidays.
I love the food amazing with all@the explanation from one of the owners. Great place
If you don't like a place with this much history, move to a local forest .
Order the great pesto-crusted lamb pops.
Jan 11(right now!): the National Day of Action Against Guantanamo & the NDAA! Join us at 1130 in Lafayette Square across from the White House. The program and march will run from Noon-2:30pm EST
Like stepping back in time. Decent, hearty pub grub at a reasonable price.
The Presidents ' favourite booths : 1 for Kennedy, 2 for Nixon, 3 for where JFK proposed to Jackie, 6 for Truman, 24 in the Dugout for LBJ.
The restaurant where JFK proposed to Jackie O. Second booth on the right. Bonus points if you're able to get a picture sitting there!
Brunch for me on the weekends until 4pm and plenty of outdoor seating , so tourists on Wisconsin Ave can pet my dog.
Have a beer where every sitting U.S. President has patronized since Truman. On one of JFK's visits, he proposed to Jackie in one of the booths .
Some small things kept it from being great. One was a weird smell in the area they placed us which was the absolute back of the restaurant . the fries that came with my burger tasted cold and soggy
EXCELLENT bar service ! Get to know Damon and John; they'll definitely take care of you!
The burger and prime rib were fantastic
The perfect cozy bar for a cold-weather pint.
Their crab cakes are perfect & the steak salad is surprisingly good.
Great service and history... don't miss it while you're in town
Awesome old-school feel, and the oldest family-owned restaurant in DC.
The BEST hot cocoa w/ extra cream!
Hot brown and Brussels are awesome!
Booth two on the right is the Nixon booth . Booth three is where JFK proposed to Jackie
fun place for lunch in Georgetown. sit in the JFK booth !
As Bennett R. put it, the Hot Brown is a deli delight on steroids. For brunch , add a fried egg on top to take it one step further...
Very local bar with good dishes
Ask to be seated in Islam's or Solomon's section. They will take excellent care of you.
Had the pork chop . Could not have been better. Ate outside and enjoyed the neighborhood
The crab cakes are the way to go!
Food was okay, would recommend checking out the history, see where the presidents like to sit, then go to the bar have a drink and eat somewhere else.
Aniko the bartender...amazing!! One of the best I've seen!!
Good atmosphere, good food
Don't order crab cakes ; fishy and shell bits left inside. Waste of $30. Burger is ok, med was a little dry. Greasy onion rings . Ambiance is awesome. Great place to come for the history, not the food.
Great food even the holiday specials.
Try the oyster stew , rich but delicious!
The crab cakes never disappoint.
Good breakfast menu !
If you like lamb dishes , try the shepard's pie . Absolutely delicious!
A truly American establishment. Classic choice would be meatloaf .
Delicious puff pastry Monte Cristo

Great for groups. Had a birthday dinner here with 15 friends. Great drinks and food comes in great portion. - Jessica Placencia
Good selection of draft beers. You can have a nice breakfast or brunch or lunch or just drink the evening away. Try the mac and cheese as a starter!! - Alex Lazo Vasquez
You have to try the seasonal cupcake, butterscotch and carrot are quite tasty, red velvet and chocolate are yummy #cravingformore - Aleso
Very good Cup cakes including Vegan. Strawberry flavour is Top selling. - Suketu Shah
