Gantry Plaza State Park

This park is a winner. Absolutely gorgeous view of the city skyline. Just an outstanding and lovely place to be. You will be in awe and amazed.

I have been visiting this park for the last 10 years. Watched it grow into a massive park . One of my favorite places in NYC.The view of the skyline is awesome. Note:gets crowded , hard to park .

Views from the gantries is amazing. Nice cafe on the south end, LIC Landing, if you need a quick drink. Flea market on the northeast end of the park on summer Saturdays. Very clean and modern park .

Inoperable gantries frame the clean and tidy, well managed grounds -- less crowded during evenings -- displaying pano-romantic views of midtown Manhattan.

Home to the famous Pepsi-Cola sign, this park as unbeatable views of Manhattan. When you want to take a romantic walk with your significant other, this is the place to do it.

The market at the north end of the park is open every weekend from 9 to 6. Grab a meal to go and walk south to the ferry to get back to Manhattan.

No question this is the best Park I NYC. Tourists should come for the best photos of the city . Locals, you know what's up already!

Gantry State Park is situated on the East River and has some of the most beautiful views of Manhattan you will find anywhere in New York's outer boroughs.

You can volunteer here over the weekend to remove weeds, enjoy gorgeous views of Manhattan, watch birds shower in pools of water, and learn about the history of railroads in New York.

Catch the eight-story Pepsi-Cola neon sign at the northern end of the park . Formerly on the rooftop of its bottling plant, now a familiar sight from the Upper East Side.

Enjoy the amazing view of Midtown Manhattan and the Queensboro Bridge .

Great views and tons of places to sit

It can get really hot out here during the summer, so after having taken a nice walk, you should check out Ice & Vice for some ice cream . It's only 0.2 miles away!

Gantry State Park was constructed in 1994-98, around gantriest that were used to transfer freight cars off of barges carrying them to Long Island from railway termini in New Jersey.

Great for little kids with a rubber floor, lots of activities, and a great view of Manhattan. No swings though.

Family-friendly but few places to eat nearby unless you walk to the Vernon 7 stop.

Rumor has it the northern portion of the park (from the Pepsi-Cola sign and up) will be opening on or around the 4th of July 2012...

Go on the boardwalk at night. The warm air will do wonders for your soul.
