Opened first branch in the 1930s before moving to Stanley Street in the 1970s, and its neon sign reflects the elegance and age of this celebrity teahouse. This neon sign brings about pangs of nostalgia for times past, when authentic teahouses were more abundant than the commercialised.

Dim sum isn't the same after chef left, but dinner remains top quality old school Cantonese! Lotsa dishes u have to pre-order: almond/liver soup , sticky rice chicken , sesame paste buns are must haves!
Menu in Traditional Chinese (fantizi). They have an English version that corresponds to the same dish code number
Tsingtao Brewery Beer (330ml) is for 35 hkd. If you prefer beer rather than tea , try it !!
Old School is right. The taste may not suit others especially for Malaysians like me who may have been accustomed to the Dim Sum of our own. All things considered, still a must try. Lovely Siumai.
Old-school dimsum spot. It's heartwarming to see older locals dine here. Speaks of the charm this tea house continues to retain
Love this old dim sum place more than the newly minted Michelin star tim ho wan. For msian, it has the coliseum feel and the food is slightly different in a good way
Used to come all the time with family as a kid. Now is a tourist attraction hence prices are much higher. Great decor. Authentic old style tea house. Food is good just not like back in the days.
Opens very early, not too crowded and has attentive service . Very enjoyable place for dimsum . Practices tipping culture.
It's an experience. Real old school tea house and Cantonese food . The staff are all seniors. You could almost feel the history here. Food was good, and it's really expensive . It's an experience.
Food is delicious. Prices are steep. I like that they serve little buns to soak up the pork rib sauce. Service friendly .
Great atmosphere. It's like stepping into the past. English menu is available. Not many items on the menu. Expect classic dishes. Food was good but not the best dim sum . Go there for the experience.
6 items came up to $431! Each dish costs $45, rice dish costs $98, chinese tea $64, about 4 times the norm. Foreigners sit at top floor separate fr locals. Diff menu for locals and tourists .
Good tea house, obviously tailors to tourists (when they return) but also locals. Some selections you won’t find elsewhere.
Old traditional dim sum restaurant and tea house. One of the nicest in central HK. Very recommended!
For some, this neon sign brings about pangs of nostalgia for times past, when authentic teahouses were more abundant than the commercialised retail outlets that litter the city today.
2nd time here in 20 yrs, famous HK institution but very disappointed, dim sum & BBQ pork are mediocre, beef fried noodles is ok but price is very expensive , same as China Tang & more!Won't be back!
For the all the bad press (crusty waiters , old-style, etc), I liked this place. Food was good, waiters helpful, and I was the only non-Asian for most of my Sunday lunch .
“This gorgeous teahouse 1933 known for its art-deco decor” — I just want to have a look, not to eat there or drink tea , metro: Central, exit D2
Tea per person is $32HKD. Also there's 10% service charge
It's an institution, traditional in décor, hence they can charge more than the food is worth. Dim Sum is OK - but not as delicate as other higher tier restaurants of similar (or lesser) price point.
Nice service and dim sum , great tea
really good dim sum with a great old school vibe. only serve regulars though
Charming old-school dim sum place. Make a reservation and sit downstairs.
Come with a local and only order from the menu for locals !
So over rated! Expensive local hk food but taste is very average. Just a tourist place. There are so many much nicer & authentic Cantonese restaurants with better environment and service in Hk.
Old-school dim sum favourite now unfortunately catering to throngs of tourists . Very good food, wonderful old interior but can be pricey . A Hong Kong institution!
Good traditional dim sum
Pricey . About triple the price for charge from Lin Heong. Not really for tourist but local. Cashier won't let me to keep the receipt but just ask to check if all items were correct. Really funny.
Home made chilli sauce .. Yum
Dim Sum is so nice, especially soup is amazing.
Such a nice dim sum experience! Steamed buns and fried dumplings were YUMMY!
"Old-school" charm included our waiter smoking while serving us. Dim sum was okay. Overall a good experience but defiantly better food out there.
Highly recommended, but difficult to find seats available.
Here's a tip "don't bother with Luk Yu Tea House. It's a rip off and tourist trap. They charge you $32/person for tea so if you a group of 10 people you've already spent $320 for sitting down.
Had high hopes but they plainly refused to serve me saying they were too busy (really? you can't fit one person in Hong Kong?) Worst excuse ever. Then they acted as if I wasn't there, so I left.
Love their interior design , good food, but way too expensive for me
Avoid this place. There are much better dim sum restaurants in Hong Kong. The food was below average and the service wasn't good either. Furthermore, it was expensive for what you get.
Dint ask for English menu, it only contains a quarter of there menu. The soup dumpling was horrible.
Must try sweet & sour pork .
Service is not great and dim sum mediocre. More expensive than it should be, caters to tourists who don't know about better dim sum places
nice dim sum
Operating since 1933. Dim sum is served between 7.00am and 5.30pm.
This place sucks. The food was below average and it's expensive for what you get. There are plenty of other good dim sum places in HK. Go find one of them instead.
Great old school dim sum ! Eat as much as you can! Haha!
Come when the before 11 when the cart is still serving
Cover charge hk$30 per person. You get a lousy pot of tea for that. Four people times 30 equals £12. Rude service
It's true - this place is a rip-off! Decent enough food, but at an extortionate mark-up (for foreigners at least). Avoid.
Dim Sum Selection limited does not carry traditional items. This place is a rip off
Dim sum rate is about 38-89 HK Dollar.
The Yangzhou fried rice is pretty good, harkau's not bad too! But egg tart disappoints.
Book the duck in advance. Get the char siu. Get the egg plants too. SOOO GOOD - Cathy T
Cool art deco style interior, creative recipes and great presentation. A bit pricey, but I recommend it. - Huda Al Mousa
Get chirashi bowl at only 60 hk$ from city super - worth every penny with a great taste, freshness and size! - Jen Loong
