I'm so glad I walked by here. The "Dry" Curry is amazing! Never tasted anything like that in my life. The Berkshire Pork Katsu Curry is one of the best Katsus I've had. I wish I lived closer.

Connie Lee

You won't find this Beef Dried Curry anywhere else - ground beef , grapes and curry mix topped with eggs and fried onions . So good.

Zac Zellers

this is some of the best japanese curry i've had in nyc. i like the tiny, luncheonette layout of the place. more of a pricier , slow-cooking, vaguely french approach to japanese curry than is typical.

New York Post

For the baked curry dish, the sauce is poured over a bed of rice and topped with an organic egg and cheddar cheese , merging multiple comfort food stars for a profoundly satisfying meal. Read more

I love that their curry has a sweet taste to it. The price is very reasonable for manhattan . Their verison of spicy is pretty mild

Andrew Hayakawa

This is be the best Japanese curry restaurant in New York. As always, the food is very good and consistent. Service is quick and they have good lunch specials .

Kate

Delicious. I've been twice and have had the baked curry and the classic Japanese curry . Lines can get long, but well worth it!

Jeffrey

Among the nine curry options, we like the one with a crisp-fried Berkshire-pork cutlet best; the hamburger curry is also terrific, if not as easy on the eyes.

Val T

Order the Berkshire pork katsu baked curry . Order it now and be forever changed

Jae Park

Baked curry is a must-get! They now accept credit cards.

Serious Eats

Solid crisp katsu and stand-up curry . Pay extra and you can get your curry topped with cheese and egg , then baked.

Liang Shi

Pork cutlet is a must try. So are the baked curries . Go solo if you don't want to wait too long. I can usually find a spot to squeeze in.

Danny

love the spicy curry here. if you want even spicier, you can ask for that too!

RC

The seaweed salad is great. The classic Japanese seafood curry was excellent but the shrimp and scallops were a bit tough. If you REALLY like spicy , Go for hot.

Nikki Sylianteng

I always get the Berkshire Porkchops . The little unexpected things I love here are the weighty curry ladles, the al dente rice , and the tiny pickled onions .

Jess Leung

A variety of curries you can choose from but the best part? You can get it baked. Topped off with an egg and cheese , this is one savory, delicious, goodness.

Rachel Smith

Always fast service & delicious curry , salad great too!

Kris Concepcion

Don't forget to pick up a frequent curry stamp card! Your 10th curry is free!

Tash Concepcion

The chicken curry (with pan fried chicken ) is excellent. Try the Japanese soda too. It's very light tasting.

The Local East Village

"The beef dried curry — spicy ground beef over rice — came with four discs of hard-boiled egg , with threads of crispy fried onion atop... It was a wonderfully artful composition for $10." Read more

Can't go wrong with the Fried Chicken Cutlet with hot curry (order extra rice if you are hungry!!)

Brian Kant

Love J-curry and one one does it as good as Curry-ya -- reminds me of Tokyo but lush. Sweet marble bar and I like how they serve curry in little cauldrons. Recommend the pork but everything's good. Read more

JapanCultureNYC

The baked curry is perfect!

Lee Simpson

Chicken katsu curry is real good, but the house made potato croquettes are the best.

Your favorite Ken

Cash only ! My usual is the Japanese Classic Curry (hot) with mini pork cutlet and croquetto on the side. You can't go wrong. =)

Emilio C

This place has got some great dishes! Get something with the fried pork ! Cash only !

Lev Polyakov

There is a toto robot bidet toilet in the back. For those who know how much of a speed saver this is, enjoy!

Jay Mimes

The chicken curry and the pork cutlet are superb. Don't forget to try with egg !

Taylor Webb

First time having chicken katsu curry and it was so good here. Definitely coming again.

JR -

Berkshire pork cutlet was a piece of perfection, though I found the Japanese curry a tad too sweet. Hole-in-the-wall spot.

Subtweet Cat

This place is tiny but has some of the best chicken katsu curry I've ever tasted in my life.

Greg Takayama

Sometimes you just want Japanese curry and rice and sometimes you're willing to pay $15 for it even though it costs a dollar to make at home.

dawn.in.newyork

Has lost its authenticity and quality when the place has changed the owner or maybe chef . The price compared to its quality is non sense now.

Shefali Bhatia

Order: Seafood Curry with corn . Side hamburger and fried shimp. With a refreshing Ginga Kogen to compliment. You wont be sorry!

Emily Wilson

The baked curry with egg is delish. Go for it.

@HungryEditor Ben Setiawan

If you're feeling decadent, order your curry baked (cheese + 🍳). Trust.

Berkshire is a great option for first timers but I love the dry curry .

Ikai Lan

The Ginga Kogen beer is small but pretty good!

Melissa Kaita

Adorable, tiny place with delicious curry . Get it baked with cheese for an extra $3!

Michelle Chung

Baked seafood curry so yum!!

Chi Nguyen

Gogo curry flavors their tonkatsu better. This curry is on the sweeter side

Zack Sheppard

The Berkshire pork cutlet curry is just delicious!

Stacy Kimball

Yes, I'll have one of everything and two more of these:

Melody Han
