Schnitzel and cheese is my standard fare. It's not changed substantially in 35 years. Still comes with a "hot plate" warning, a carafe of orange cordial and a small bowl of lettuce leaves for salad .

A local institution. Rough around the edges but in a charming way. Plus the staff are great and remember your name.

Strongest coffee in the area, friendly staff who remember you, no nonense, good value , and you'll often find yourself dining with pigeons onside. Great retro poster of the district on the wall too

Been coming here every day for lunch since I started working nearby. The staff know my usual meal and favorite seat, and just gave me a free coffee ! <3 (Bocconcini + tomato sandwich is great)

It's good if u wanna eat something healthy without spending a lot of money, but you can define it a real italian restaurant.. If u want to feel the real italian taste you need to spend more i think

Cheese schnitzel is the bomb! Splurge and get it as combination with spaghetti bolognese ! I love this place!

Went upstairs for pasta . Cheap , simple, homely, as always. And of course, the funny free cordial .

Foccacia with the lot. I have been ordering it for over twenty years and I still love it. Never in fashion, never out. A low key sydney treasure.

Food upstairs is pretty basic but decent enough. $16 gets you a veal schnitzel , with a side of spinach and carrots , some bread , and a lettuce salad . Tasty enough and the price is right.

The non smoking area is the café next door. Everyone here smokes. Coffee comes with a pack of Winfield Blue.

The vegetarian option is quite spicy , if you like that. I don't so it was annoying for me. I liked the steak Dave had. The free bread was definitely the best. For the price: 4/10.

Only been there once, but it had the best long Macchiato 's I've ever had. OK, secon best, but the Dog's Bar in St. Kilda is long gone....

Big fan of their soups ! Try the soy choc milkshakes ! Yum!

The food is not great, big meals but quality is very average, do not accept credit cards, dirty toilets . Not recommended.
