There is a 5 mile trail/paved road , fishing and boat rentals . It only has one drinking fountain at the start. Sometimes it gets crowded on weekend afternoons.
It's a very quiet and relaxing place to go. You can just sit in your car or get out and sit by the lake and relax. People exercising walking and jogging and fishing .
hot tip: the parking lot gets packed, esp on the weekends. park over at miramar overlook park , walk down the hill , and the trail will dump you right onto the loop

5 miles around with ¼ mile markers makes Miramar Lake a great, scenic place to train with a buddy or alone! Walk, run, bike , or rollerblade around. Pet friendly too!
bring dog food to feed ducks instead of bread ... not only is it recommended(per lake sign), but the ducks seem to love & go crazy over it! crazy ducks means happy kids!
If you're up here running, skating or biking around the lake please get out of the way of vehicles! You see a car coming get over to the far right! Do not casual stroll along! Pay attention!
Nice 'getaway' from the nearby traffic of Mira Mesa . Easy to forget you live in one of America's largest cities when here. A local jewel.
When walking/jogging/running, time yourself from one distance marker to the next! If you're bringing a 4 legged friend, be sure to bring water in the Summer. Share some with pets that don't have any!
A very beautiful place for a long walk or jog.
I run the loop regularly and my Garmin insists it's 4.88 miles ... Helpful to know if you're trying to get accurate pace times
Miramar lake is not 5 miles . If you run it counterclockwise with the view of Mira Mesa at the end continue running passed bathrooms until you pass the yellow post before the parking on the left
