Absolutely gorgeous. Saw a newborn calf trotting alongside its mother. Also saw a giant snake and a coyote...cool but don't let dogs wander off the trail ! Great signage, easy to find your way around.
“Outstanding place. My first time here and blown away by the natural beauty and wildlife . So many birds that I don't normally see or hear my part of the bay area.”
Bring your dog, get ready to see some cows. You really can see mt diablo from the Diablo view trail .
Nature's medicine: miles of trails , sweeping valley views ; and the sounds of surburbia can't be heard from the ridgetop. Dogs love this place.
The loop around Briones is listed as an 'Ultimate Sunday Bike Ride ' here: http://www.7x7.com/fitness-outdoors/briones-regional-park-loop
Rent a picnic area for your next event .
It would take over 6 miles of hiking each way to walk across the entire park .
A great place to get away from everyday busy life. Lots of trails . Just bring plenty of water!
Not lush at all. Rolling hills are just filled with dead brush. There's no shade so definitely wear sunscreen-it's so dry and hot. You might run into cows.
Hike today
Go to Briones Regional Park and see if you can avoid a showdown with a cow over who rightfully owns the path you're on! It is humbling.
The ridge loop makes for a wonderful day hike .
Rolling hills typical of Contra Costa. Lush and green in the spring, dry and dusty in all other seasons.
This place is awesome!! Great views, easy trails. - Wesley Callow
#MTB An up and coming destination. Three flow trails in various states of completion. Right now the first climb out on Edwards provides the best descent at the end of the ride. - Brian Strauss
