Really friendly staff . Old school country and Cajun music playing with everyone singing along. Food was good for the price. Recommend trying it for lunch . Bar atmosphere.
I go for lunch , not often enough. The catfish and red beans and rice are a steal. Friendly service , like you grew up with them. Its a buried treasure.
The men's and women's bathrooms housed in this tiny restaurant/jazz lounge are a genuine breathe of fresh air from the usual water closets that would be ideal for horror film scenes.
The atmosphere was great! The wait staff was very helpful but the menu and specialty drink menu didn't contain enough info about the items. I ordered the Cajun pasta and it was delicious!
We have driven to New Orleans several times. This is way quicker if you already live in Dallas. Oh, the fried ball things are a bit delightful if you are famished.
The catfish and the hush puppies are excellent. The music on any day is on point.
Friendly Service ! They made Gluten Free Pickle Spears just for me. I will be back!!
The atmosphere is lively and original. They don't play up the whole swamp, crocodile and Cajun music angle. It's simply a jazz bar with food inspired by southern Louisiana.
Their super-thin sweet potato fries are tossed in an addictive spicy-sweet seasoning, then cooked until crispy and almost charred on the outside.
Excellent live music !
Try muffalata -- chopped olives , salami , ham , provolone and smoked mozzarella . The delicious side of sweet-potato fries are seasoned with salt, pepper , brown sugar , cinnamon and nutmeg .
live music every night. be sure to tip the musicians !
Celebrated Fat Tuesday here and the food was good. Try the brisket cornbread sliders .
Food is off the chain!!! Awesome music (JT rocks). Drinks are awesome too! Try the frozen mango goodness in a glass drink. Stellar!
The bread pudding is f**king awesome. Always listen to the bartender they know what they are talking about.
The Muffuletta was delicious, the red beans are great! Live music was awesome!
The best cornbread on earth. Get the cornbread brisket sliders !
Great music , 7 nights a week, and great food, always
The drinks are cheap and decent, and the food is just good enough to enjoy while watching a live band
If you want fantastic music , check out Funky Knuckles every Monday night at 10. You won't regret it.
Cajun crawfish pasta & brisket grilled cheese were the bomb
Have to agree. The music is tops! The food is beyond. Absolutely an authetic atmosphere of great music & food. Now for dessert !
Tuesday nights are so fun. Open mic and crazyness. Get there beforr all the fireball is gone.
Good food. Jambalaya or etoufee can probably feed two.
Try the Jambalaya and the Red Beans and Rice . They are both amazing !! <3
OMG!!! The crab stuffed jalapeños need to be served with a fire extinguisher!!! They're good but WOW fire!
I really enjoyed the boudin balls. The gumbo was flavorful, however I didn't like the fact that they added what seemed like hot dog sausage to it. The hot chicken sandwich was good, but wasn't great.
Best damn cajun in Dallas. The boudin balls are AMAZING
The Cajon Brisket is amazing and it's on special today! $7.95
Come on Sunday's at 3:30! Live jazz ! Get a hurricane and the Boudain balls! Yummy!
The crab stuffed jalapenos arent filled with crab.....just cream cheese ...and i hate creamcheese!!!!!!
Some of the best Cajun food this side of Louisiana!
I truly enjoyed the Blackened Shrimp and the Pink Volcano !
Great live music nightly by Deep Ellum's best.
Shrimp poboy is the best I've found in Dallas.
Blackened shrimp amazing. Also try the bread pudding , delicious!
Etouffee was way better that I've had at a lot of "Cajun" restaurants and the drinks are strong
The Friday night band had the place rockin!
The Ella. Great jazz and blues bands!
Gator was DOPE! Hot Chick was fire too!
