I love REI ! Wax for $20 (if you're a member) and done in 24-48 hrs! So hurry up & be part of the co-op. LOVE their own REI brand products (cheaper and well made). Let's not forget the helpful staff .
They have great, knowledgeable people working here, and others too, so be sure to ask the right person for help...if they don’t make statements like “I’d trust my life with this...” then try again.
Well organized with very helpful employees . A breath of fresh air compared to its competitors (Paragon & EMS). Love that they kept a lot of the original architectural details.
If you're into the outdoors, this store will be your little sanctuary. Staff is knowledgeable and nice. Selection is great too. Become a member for only $20 and enjoy discounts forever!
Join the co-op membership and get a dividend back on all you spend. Great sales on bikes , gear and attire. Don't forget the classes at this soho location.
Really impressed by how helpful the staff is. They're genuinely not helping you out just to make a sale and are super helpful to people with any level of outdoors experience. Definitely will return.
Join the co-op membership for $20.00 and the benefits come in quickly. The best one? 100% customer satisfaction. I've never had a problem returning anything here with good reason.
If you plan on spending >$200 in your life, spend the $20 on a lifetime membership . Gets you 10% back on all purchases, as well as incredible discounts on all rental gear
Check the events calendar for free Citi Bike Street Skills classes held in the REI classroom downstairs about once a month. Free 24-hr passes to participants. Dock a bike right out front on Lafayette!
Friendly and knowledgable staff . If your buying an expensive item i.e. above $200, it probably makes sense spring for the lifetime membership
The REI membership is worth it. You can make back the cost of the membership with a medium-large purchase. You're also supporting an amazing company.
Good selection, friendly and helpful staff , good prices (and you get a dividend and discounts if you're a member, which is free!)
If you're from Colorado, you'll be very disappointed at the quality and selection here. It's very well-stocked if you're biking or doing some casual camping , but lacking in almost every other area.
My home away from home. I need to leave my wallet before entering though...hah! Super awesome selections and super helpful staff .
REI is clearly the best, and are way better than Paragon. But that said, researching very specific items are best found by searching online.
For slightly hidden clearance gear, head to the bottom of the store (2 floors down) and you'll see a rack dead ahead. Usually from the most recent season
So glad there's finally an REI outpost in the city . Great gear, recommendations & don't forget they do trips & classes !
Stare at the promotional video for GoPro for a while. Then close your eyes and imagine you could jump / fly / dive / skate / surf like that. Then buy a water bottle and walk out.
Love R.E.I. for their unbeatable return policy. Great one stop shop for your next adventure outside of the concrete jungle!! ????
One of my favorites for specialty nutrition for those of us that don't reach for the Gator/Power-ade (or equivalent) drinks.
Very helpful staff , very calm and relaxed vibe , near subway station , got lots of hiking and outdoors gear!
Come here for all your outdoor needs. This flagship store has skiing , hiking , biking , climbing and other goods.
Awesome outdoor store in the middle of New York. Helpful staff and full selection.
LOVE REI . so helpful and friendly . And really know their stuff
Apart from anything-you-could-possibly-need outdoors shopping, they also offer free classes like Bike Maintenance 101 and more.
Three levels of stuff you mostly don't need, unless of course you're glmaping.
Everything outdoor!
Employees are great here. Extremely helpful and go above and beyond. Great selection for thr great outdoors
My fav place to buy outdoor gears. Their return policy is not as awesome before, but still great imo

Good for camping gear and cycling accessories . Men's apparel lacking, and buy a bike at a real bike shop .
Trail running shoes are hard to come by in the asphalt jungle of NYC. REI is your best bet for a selection and knowledgeable salespeople.

This is the store to come and get EVERYTHING you need and be prepared to go on an African Safari.
Top notch customer service , as always! Makes a great way to star the day dealing with smiling happy people.
