Hilo Farmers Market

Wednesday is the day to hit the largest farmer's market on the island . Come in the morning for the best selection. You're bound to find a fruit or vegetable you've never seen before. Souvenirs galore.

They had live music ! Reasonable prices and tropical fruits I had never tried before and the merchants often give samples! Come hungry great food vendors at reasonable prices!

Great source for local produce and crafts. Chat up the vendors. They are really good peeps. Great Aloha spirit!

Awesome farmers market . We had some amazing fresh baked blueberry muffins .

The diversity of fruit here is amazing--and everything is grown locally and by the farmers who sell it. Absolutely worth the trip.

For ono grinds, check out Ratana 's green papaya salad (with avocado !) and the bbq cart next door!

Depending on how many or the same items you buy, the seller might give you a deal (1/$2 or 3/$5)

Stop by Mattos hand made traditional Koa weapons stand, all hand made on the Big Island .

Go to Ratana 's Thai Food stand for papaya salad ! I always go there for that! :)!

I can not get over the price of papayas here.... 6 for a buck? And they are super sweet. That's crazy! In NYC they can easily run you 2-3 bucks each.
