Mama's Fish House

Pricey but worth it. Delicious cocktails , memorable entrees like the stuffed mahi and curry , and appetizers including ono in a coconut . Beautiful view and great service. Come for lunch to soak it in.

This is the best place to eat in Maui. I can honestly say this is one of the top 5 restaurants I've ever eaten at - includes restaurants in New York, Paris, and Istanbul. Just go and enjoy.

Mahi-mahi was so nice. You can taste it with pineapple sauce and butter based sauce which was around the fish . Outside the restaurant is ocean view and you can have your meal with the fantastic view !

Best (and most expensive ) meal we had in Hawaii. Lobster stuffed mahi mahi (pictured) was delicious, but I think the Panang Curry with Ahi , Onaga, and Mahi Mahi was even better, if you like curries !

This restaurant might be in the top 5 greatest meals I’ve ever had. Everything we had was better than the last. Our waitress was a gem also: so attentive and helpful. I would love to go back!

Everything is delicious!! Some favs: Ahi w Tahitian Lime , Haleakala Beef in papaya , Kona lobster coconut luau soup , Mahi Mahi stuffed w lobster , Caladonia prawns . Mama’s Curry is the best dish of all!

Pro Tip - for the fish entrees, you can request any of the fish with any of the preps. For ex, if you want the ahi but like the way the papio is prepared, you can request the ahi with the papio prep

Everything, haven’t found anything don’t like yet. Would add more pictures if could, but pic is Mama’s special fresh catch of day stuffed with lobster and crab . Fish on this day was mahi mahi .

The service is great! All the fish are fresh caught and prepared specially to taste! Cocktails are wonderful and don’t skip dessert ! We had the Black Pearl ! It was wonderful!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Will definitely come again yeh next time I’m in Maui. Be advised: they book up way in advance!

Always a treat to eat at this spot, although it was steamy in the open air restaurant . Enjoyed the macadamia nut crusted crab cakes , roasted duck and homemade mango ice cream . Guava & rum below.

The Mahi mahi and Traditional Hawaiian are top notch. Try the poi, you might like it. Go all out and order the black pearl - you'll be hard pressed to eat a prettier treat

So, so good. Maui margarita - delicious. Shrimp Wanton - so good. Panang Curry (pictured) was amazing. Strongly recommend, although it is somewhat expensive (Entres are between $40-60)

The crab cakes and the macadamia nut Mahi Mahi were exquisite. One of the best fish I ever had. Cooked to perfection.

The food is good and fresh. The place is packed but at Paris three star prices we need to review in that light. Plan on cocktail , wine , appetizer , main and dessert about $160 per person with gratuity

A must visit. Annoyingly books up multiple months in advance but you can steal a cancellation if you’re persistent on OpenTable. From the Mai Tais through to all the seafood and the views .

This was absolutely one of the two best restaurants on the island . Merrimans was terrific as well . Comparing Mai Tai 's, sorry, Merriman's takes the cake but Mama's has amazing dishes.

Def get the Beef Polynesian to start. You can't go wrong with any of their fresh fish but I love the sashimi & a bowl of spicy mahi mahi soup . Oh, don't forget a Mai Tai or Scorpion cocktail !

Get the stuffed mahi mahi . Let people at your table try a bite and they'll be supremely jealous. Don't let them try it and you'll get all of the best meal in Maui for yourself

It was the highlight of my family's trip to Maui. Get the calamari appetizer , it is something unforgettable you wouldn't have expected. Got Ceviche , oysters , and a whole fried fish and mahimahi .

Fresh fish , wonderfully prepared. Great service in a beautiful location. The free flowing architecture of the fish house with its windows, wood work and roofing are a visual meal.

Get a table w/an ocean view . It is expensive but excellent food and service. Loved the grilled octopus , and the Mahi Mahi stuffed with local crab and lobster , chocolate pie w/chocolate caramel crust

Outstanding service ambiance and food. Worth every dollar you spend. The mahi mahi Penang curry is great. The crab guac with chips appetizer is good too. The drinks were ok but a little pricey

So good but pricey ! Ceviche and collar for apps, and boubailse and stuffed fish are amazing. The black pearl and coconut chiffon cake is amazing!

Mahi was very fresh and delicious but the plate did not look classy . It is hard for a kitchen to maintain excellence with the number of guests being served. At $52 and people waiting. Amazing.

If you have the cash to spend, this place is a MUST! I had the stuffed Mahi and it was fabulous. Loved the beach outside and the sunset with an incredible rainbow was a perfect ending to our dinner .

Wonderful seafood and gorgeous views . Fresh fish daily. The fishermen and the fish catch locations are noted on the menu as part of the dish descriptions. Nice little beach in front with tide pools .

The restaurant is amazing and beautiful. I guess that it's the best place to eat in Maui. The dishes are delicious and the fish is fresh. Unfortunately is also expensive , but I don't have regrets!

I know it's called Mama's fish house but the short rib was among the best I've ever had. I'd recommend all of the apps! Shared a bunch and then split the short ribs and it was ????????????????

You HAVE to eat here! Make a reservation . Everything on menu is fantastic. Faves: shrimp wontons , mahi mahi , coconut porter , chocolate pie - get it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream .

Amazingly fresh fish , great decor, and stunning private beach . Must go in Maui! Dinner completely booked between Christmas and NYD while we were here. But lunch has the same menu, plus a sunny beach !

Pretty much everything is delicious! I especially enjoyed the local wild venison . I also love the fact that they indicate where your fish/meat is coming from!

Basically the scene you want when visiting Hawaii: fresh fish and thematic decor. Crab cakes were a definite highlight. A bit pricey and a bit overhyped but def a must stop. Try to make it for sunset

Reserve a seat close to the cove during sunset . Order a tropical drink , a few appetizers , some opakapaka and stuffed Maui for entrees, and experience one of the best dining experiences on island !

Came in knowing it was expensive , and it definitely did not disappoint!! Amazing fresh dishes . Calamari was fabulous and the deserts were yummy. Will come here again... And again! (Best view too)

Get the Beef Polynesian (appetizer ), the Stuffed Mahimahi (entree), and the Polynesian Black Pearl (dessert ). It's expensive , but the food and the service were spectacular! Oh, better book in advance.

The sashimi app is delicious, but leaves you wanting more. Tomato and Maui onion salad was wonderful, have a bed of lettuce added. We split the Panang Curry and it was superb, enough to share.

The best seafood we've ever had. You will want to try anything caught locally. Try the sashimi too! The cocktails are good, I recommend the Plantation Punch.

The ocean is right there! It means that seafood must be fresh, delicious and cheep. It is fresh, it is very well prepared. But this is just fresh seafood and those prices are absolutely unjustified.

Honeymooning or just want a sexy dinner for two? Mama's is THE most romantic spot for dinner on Maui. The fish is freshly caught & will melt in your mouth. Go for broke & get the Surf & Turf #winning

The service and food were impeccable. My wife had popio steamed in a delicate ginger/green onion and soya preparation. Best fish we can recall eating. Definitely highly recommend.

The Hawaiian sampler was heavenly. It has a little bit of something for everyone: Mahimahi , wild boar , sweet potatoes , bananas , octopus luau, poi and more. Highly recommended, esp. w/chili water.

Ok it’s good. Really good. Hard to get in. Refresh your open table and put an alert on. It ain’t cheap . Lunch for two was 2.5 bills. Service is exceptional.

Get the house special ceviche and the mahi mahi ! It really is a special occasion type of place. Cocktails we had were awesome!

The panang curry , crab cakes & tomato/Maui onion salad are all fantastic. This place is a real gem, book well in advance of your trip to get a decent reservation time.

You can safely go with their recommendations. My party of two tried a couple different apps and entrees and with everything being same-day catch, it's simply fish/seafood heaven.
