Eggs and Bacon are a simple and light choice. They make it quick & quality. Even at a full house, they dishes my order out in a jiff. As a side tip, their malts aren't too bad either.
Esquire: Cheeseburger remains gold standard. Locals know that coolest move is to swing by for breakfast - hash browns are soft underneath a crust of gold. Toast is homemade .
Can’t go wrong with anything here. We got a burger and fries . Only thing I’ll say is, it’s a bit expensive for what you get!
Service great , thin pancakes yum!! Oh then there is lunch with burger and pie ! Can't go wrong...they now have a food truck for catered events ! What Fun

Hands down best. Burger . In town . So moist and flavorful. Took about half an hour tho before food came out. Still, so tasty it's worth it for a leisurely day
Ask for some of the amazing homemade dressing added if ordering the party melt. Also the fries are available in a half order if alone. This is the best old school burger in L.A. Period!
It's not the food, it's the charm of sitting in such a throw-back diner , but a slice of warm pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream makes it worth the visit.

Opened 1963. 1960s diner with wood paneled walls, a long laminate lunch counter and colonial revival counter stools.
Old school Pasadena ledge down with great pie and good burgers . The rumor is that they inspired In-n-out burger .
Get a cheeseburger (phenomenal), skip the fries (meh) thereby saving room for pie (classic). Sky-high meringue on the coconut cream has been my go-to for about three decades now.
If you're here for the burgers - not the pies - go with the classic cheeseburger . Perfectly done beef patty w/ american cheese , crisp lettuce, grilled onions & Pie 'n Burger sauce. Yum!!!
For Breakfast : Short stack fluffy, hash browns well done, side of bacon a must and coffee ...you will leave full and happy!!
Best old-school cheeseburger/hamburger around. Giant delicious pies for dessert . Real fountain soda .
Best thin, airy pancakes in town .
Can’t decide what to order? George Motz, host of Travel Channel’s Burger Land , recommends the ‘double-double’ burger .

Pies are fantastic. Not sure why the burger is so popular. Pretty boring and thin. Fries were undercooked and extremely greasy.

I love, Love, LOVE the pie . Their Butterscotch pie and Peanut Butter pie are the best.
Best bacon cheeseburgers ever! Their lemon meringue pie is amazing. Cash only .
Greatest Hamburger in all of Pasadena, order it with grilled onions for an extra kick. The chili is also fantastic. The pie and vanilla ice cream are delightful.
Burgers good. Pies good. If you need more convincing, don't take up a seat.

The burger and vanilla malt were awesome. Classic pair. The pancakes are also good. Enjoy!
Just get a burger . Everything is good here but still. CASH/ CHECK ONLY!
Pie . Burger . And really good, amazingly spicy salsa .
The pancakes are stellar, the burgers and pies are equally magnetic.
Hate the location in busy semi-fancy downtown Pasadena, but love the burger and the the pie . Hard to go wrong with this old fashioned burger .
Great honest burger and killer pies . Great crust.
It must be hard competing with In-N-Out, but this restaurant has been holding its own since 1963. Waitresses who know you by name and a perfectly seared patty indicate precisely why.
I had the rhubarb pie . Nice to see an unusual menu item
It’s expensive but a damn tasty burger . Cherry malt !
Thin pancakes for the win!!!! So fluffy and delicious with salted butter and honey . :)
Hate to be an elitest. But read the menu off the wall its classic and wonderful. The table menus are the problem, makes your eyes want to bleed. Its a design nightmare.
Breakfast is the best, straight forward American brekky in town . Lunch and dinner ? Add bacon .
Forego the food and stick to the pie . The burger is an overpriced and not worth it. Chili is not much better than a can. I sampled 4 pies all delectable. They need to stick to the pie business.
Cheeseburger , grilled onions , fries , root beer , and wash it down with a piece of boysenberry pie ...heaven!
This is my favorite burger of all time.
Sounds like it would be an awesome hipster diner . But alas, it's just a diner .
Awesome diner-style burgers , but a little expensive . The pies are overrated. Cash-only
