Waialea Beach (Beach 69) is a beach Hawaii County located in United States.
South Kohala, HI (Puako Road) South Kohala , HI 96743 United States
This beach is small, quiet and romantic with its white washed trees , black rock and gorgeous ocean. Come for sunset !
Best snorkeling is where the reef builds up around the rocks. From the main lot, walk to the beach then left & left some more. Look for a large formation, set your gear down, and enjoy.
Named after the number on the post at the side of the road , you'll find lots of shade and plenty of parking at beach 69. Water is clear and good for snorkeling . Watch for thorns and rocks in the sand.
Beware strong currents, especially on the north side. Come early for good parking especially on weekends. Showers , bathrooms , some picnic tables .
Must see - few miles north of Waikoloa ... a real nice sandy beach with some basic snorkeling . Lots of shade for us mainlanders. Recently improved with rinse off showers . Road is narrow and good.
Great beach to spend the day. Plenty of shade and room. If you want to snorkel go to two step beach instead.
Arrive as early as possible as you’ll have the beach fairly to yourself and the waters are way calmer in the morning !
Nice shaded beach , bring your own food etc
One of our favorite beaches , beautiful snorkling on the north-end of the beach . Can be a nice surf-spot when the surf is up.
Quiet and secluded beach great for snorkeling even though the water can get a little rough at times.
Not much sand. Mostly rocky. Secluded and shady. Head a little bit left as you enter and you'll get a little bit of a beach .
Beautiful, free snorkeling (bring your own gear) when ocean is calm . Not as clear when ocean is rough...
Amazing snorkeling - thousands of fish and some turtles too! Great shady spots on the beach too. Awesome.
This is the best place to go for a quiet morning swim
Great snorkeling spot! Swim with the turtles and tons of colorful fish !!
Bathrooms are never in working order and the portos are always a little rough. Hop over to Hapuna for facilities, but beach 69 is way nicer!!
Small beach . Very secluded, but sand is really rocky.
Strong 4G or LTE coverage (AT&T).
Surf , soft sand , not a big beach
Beautiful!!!
Amazing! White sand. Gorgeous water. And even though it is a popular spot, it's pretty big so it's not crowded. - Stephanie Marie
Fantastic beach for small children. Lots of shade trees near the water and very calm surf. - Jenn Pann
Beautiful beach and the beach bar is PERFECT for happy hours - Catherine Maisonneuve
Tasty pork nachos! Very friendly & gracious staff. Good place to come an unwind directly on the beach! - JB Stringer
If you want to swim, head towards the northern side (right side if facing the ocean) - it's sandiest there! - Yelena
Yum. Tasty donuts. Fresh and delicious. - Khodadad Sirossi
