Canter's is a famous West Hollywood deli with a well preserved mid century interior, fantastic food, and timeless charm. The place is huge with two enormous dining rooms and a rad dive bar in the back
The pastrami is excellent; it's thick cut, with the perfect amount of saltiness, and it's not too fatty. The rye bread is the stuff dreams are made of; moist and bursting with flavor. Read more
Any soup you order will be amazing! I have had them all! The chopped liver is to die for...if you like chopped liver...LOL
Great service and large portions of traditional good food. Ask your server as they know the menu inside and out. Sit ‘under the trees ’ for a great view at the back
Don’t miss the onion--it's got razor-thin slices of onion and poppy seeds galore. And good news: The bakery’s just been cleared to be rebuilt. Read more
Been coming here 40+ years. There is nothing bad on the menu and everyone is so friendly ! Had my own booth in the back section, when I was going to U.S.C.
Amazing deli food always! The corned beef on rye with chopped liver was great, and also visit the take out counter to get Jewish pastries and more to go.
LA has many classic diners and delis , but when Chef Thomas Keller of Ad Hoc needs a deli-sandwich fix, he always stops here for either the pastrami or the corned beef . Read more
So much history in this place. Look at all of the cool photos on the wall! Neat phone booth area in the front of the second room too. And those huge, delicious sandwiches ... omg.
So many things to choose from in the bakery , and they're all delicious! They'll even let you sample a little if you're having trouble deciding. Great for late night breakfast cravings.
The staff and there was friendly , after you get their attension. I had their pastry with potato in it, and something with chocolate I think, and both were actually really tasty!
Famous LA spot that is more than a diner ! They have a deli ! Celebrity watching spot! Huge menu but everything is delicious. Generous portions and matzo ball soup is superb!
You gotta love Canter's, it's an LA staple. Great old school ambiance. Try the Corned Beef Reuben . Get a Black & White cookie . Go on, just do it.
This place is extraordinary. Free parking for 90 minutes, open 24 hours , food quality is fresh & personalized service. Sue was my server and she was very friendly ! One-of-a-kind menu. A real gem in LA
Classic interiors and a surprising selection of vegetarian options ! Limited vegan options as well .
Excellent place. Best deli in town . Go for the hot pastrami sandwich .
The best in most areas....but I'm a huge, huge fan of the bakery . For a warm, embracing experience, go to Canter's. But for a pastrami sandwich , go to Langer's.
I always order the corned beef and pastrami on rye with a kosher pickle on the side. Add a chocolate egg cream or a Newcastle to drink. Any baked good for dessert . Thank me later.
Authentic 1950s-designed Jewish deli that originally opened in Boyle Heights in 1931. Moved to its current location in 1953.
Great place for late night eats! Matzo Ball Soup is a must! Pickled tongue sandwich is also great with hot mustard .
Kung Fu Vampire introduced me to this place. Corned beef sandwiches here are the fuckin shit. Guns N Roses took their first photo together here. Open 24 hours so it's a must on tour .

A classic delicatessen on Fairfax. The food is good but the atmosphere and the crowd are just amazing. Have a cream soda . Love it!
One of America's most infamous Jewish delis , where hopeful rockers come to eat at all hours, or drink at the attached Kibitz Room.
LA's historic diner in Fairfax. Everything on the menu is good, so don't spend too much time choosing. Also, the bakery is MAGICAL.
Best in the west, excellent food it's all good. I do recommend the Ruben sandwich and there homemade pickles .
You're at an LA institution! Canter's made an appearance in the movie Swingers. The guys drive by the exterior on their caravan from the Beautiful Babies party in the hills to The Dresden.
The half pastrami sandwich with a cup of bean and barley soup is the perfect amount of food for lunch . Only $16.95
Can never go wrong with Hot Corned Beef on Rye . However you CAN go wrong with Thanksgiving Dinner "everyday" - and the vile coffee - which tastes as if they've never changed out the grounds...

Without a doubt the best matzo ball soup anywhere. For variety, also try the MishMosh!
You might be here for corned beef or pastrami , but don't leave w/o picking up some of their delicious cookies and even more delectable rugallah in the bakery . You deserve a treat!

Anything with pastrami in the menu is awesome! & if the pastries are a delicious...
I'm gonna go ahead and be a hater and say that it's really not that amazing. Nate n Al's or the Norm's on La Cienega are much better options
