loved the variety of the collections! there's artworks from the ancient to modern times and include asian, latin, and islamic art . You can find pieces from Picasso,Monet,Modigliani,Gaugin,Cezanne..
The Islamic art is located on the 4th floor of Ahmanson building.Unfortunately,its so limited.Since jan'15,they featured contemporary Islamic art&removed the ancient art&will switch back again in '18!
At the LACMA Café , I absent-mindedly rearranged the ingredients of my fruit salad into a smiling face. I returned from the restroom to discover my creation had been awarded Best in Show.

LACMA is one of the best modern art museums in the country . Come here to see the famous light post installation, Urban Light , check out some Rivera & Matisse, and definitely don’t miss Metropolis II.
Great area. Has the iconic lamps that everyone goes to for the 'gram! Upstairs is a cute cafe called C+M and there's wifi so you're able to work on their patio outside and soak up the sun.
LACMA is a good choice for a date night or a daytime family friendly museum . Evening jazz concerts happen on Friday’s. Instagram worthy pics outside in front of the LACMA called the Urban lights .
The permanent collection spans the globe and the millennia, ranging from French Impressionism to Greek and Egyptian antiquities . Admission is pay-as-you-wish after 5 p.m. every day.
Museum as a wonderful variety of art including modern and old. My favorites are Monet, Gaugin, Cezanne and of course, Picasso. A great way to spend an afternoon.

Great museum , a little bit expensive but worth it. Plenty of options for lunch and early dinner . Also a bar where you can enjoy a drink. Better yet, picnic at La Brea Pits.

The current special exhibit on Frank Gehry models and the crowd-pleasing Metropolis II are not to be missed. The quiet , spacious layout of the Japanese gallery is always a delight.
Love that there are so many outdoor public spaces in between buildings. Also the Japanese Art building has an architecture worth checking out.
I Love how on certain occasions a special event is featured. Last time I went I got to see the special exhibit featuring DVF dresses . Beautiful, and definitely a great place for artsy people.

A small collection but there are some great masters here. A few Rembrandts, Picassos. Make sure to see the website for traveling exhibits .

LACMA is a great place to visit. It has several floors of art . The European section was fantastic. If you are into art and even if you are not, you should visit this place.

Great place to bring tourists and LA newbies. Most will recognize this art work in a movie or two. Beautiful place day or night.
Most of the lower level entry areas were very well displayed. The buildings construction and the way the Art was arranged was easy one the eyes and feet. I definitely recommend repeated attendance.

Great museum with lots of exhibits . Parking is expansive so take the bus . Future train station will make it easier.
People usually come here to see the Urban Light installation outdoors. Best time for photos is golden hour.
stellar outdoor installations are open to the public, while thoughtful exhibitions in the Resnick and other buildings keep things fresh. Must visit website for upcoming rotations.
Multiple buildings with art from different countries & regions of the US. You can easily spend a couple of hours walking through the galleries .

One of my favorite places in LA. Lots and lots of things to see and a nice place to spend a day off with someone.
You can actually skip the long line for tickets at the front if you walk up the stairs and go towards the middle of the area with the hanging strings from the ceiling.
Use your phone as a free guide. Open the LACMA mobile site and enter the number next to the piece. Not all artworks are available, and some have audio.

Must walk around the museum . It is a home to great outdoor sculptures ! Jeff KOONS, Calder, and a massive Matisse. Good for a quick, short visit as the museum is not big. Easy to explore in less time.
