Gorgeous rooftop worth the voluntary admission and ridiculous trek around the Medieval exhibit trying to find the elevator . Drinks are super expensive so come for the view & go towards 2nd Ave after.
It's cute ! Stunning views of Central Park . Wine and Sangria available. Great NYC spot to bring folks to.
When the weather gets warmer this is when this cool rooftop bar open up and all I can say is what a view ! The drinks are pretty good but that view is to die for!
Great photo-ops and sunset views . Nothing like an after work drink on this rooftop in the spring/summer.
Like most things in the met, definitely pricey , but still a great experience on a beautiful day. Amazing views , good drinks.
Such a beautiful view of the city and Central Park ! Very hot though (very little shade!) Drinks are delicious!
Very good drinks! Closes an hour before the museum . They didn't announce it, so keep an eye on your watch or you might miss last call.
The roof garden always has a great view of the city , enjoy the art exhibits they have up here as well as a drink and a nibble at the cafe .
A hidden hang out when you need a rest from all the walking around the museum . Grab a drink from the bar and enjoy the view .
Gorgeous place to see Manhattan and Central Park + the Hitchcock house on the top is great
This is an amazing addition to the Met! Great place to bring visitors, but don't expect to make it your rooftop party spot ...try the Refinery for that!
One of our favorite NY things to do is have cocktails after work on the roof of the Metropolitan, and take in the best views of Central Park . Open through late fall . Closed on Mondays.
Amazing view ! Take a break for the museum , relax and have a beer on a hot summer day.
One of the best views in the entire city ... a great place to sit and have a drink during the summer.
Amazing view of midtown and the surrounding area of Central Park and the upper east side. Partial views of the skyline of the upper west side.
A great view , grab a beer , and enjoy the roof top art exhibit .
Fantastic views of the city / Park . Don't miss it on your next visit to the Met. The makeshift "bar " isn't anything to write home about though...
A great reason to go see tons of art reward yourself with a drink and a great view of central park and the city . Nice mixed drinks and good old bottled beers available!
Calm and refreshing for a little break on the roof when taking in the vast museum .
What a view ! And what an interesting series of different art installations.
Gaze at a seasonal exhibition of innovative sculptures by cutting-edge artists on top of arguably the world’s finest art collection . Open May through late fall , weather permitting.
awesome rooftop when the weather's nice!
The vibe changes every year at this rooftop bar atop the Met. This season, check out the Starn brothers' labyrinthine bamboo installation: a sculpture you can climb—if you buy a ticket and wear flats. Read more
Go for the views , drink rosé and enjoy!
The Roof Garden has a new exhibit made entirely out of bamboo and it is still growing. A guided tour , running every half-hour takes you up on this bamboo exhibit . It will be running until October 2010
One of the most amazing views of NYC! Amazing place overall !!'n
Open til 9 pm on fri and sat . Great place for a drink in afternoon with a view of the park .
Anthony Caro's sculpture currently on exhibit on the Rooftop at the Iris & B Gerald Cantor Roof Garden at The Met are well worth the visit - most excellent!
Pricey beverages and light snacks but a great view !
Located at the rooftop of the Met museum . The 'bar ' is really just a concession stand that serves alcohol . Not worth going to just for the 'bar ' but a must visit if you're already at the Met.
Super cool green space.. Take off your shoes and walk in bare feet.. But only through October when it closes for winter.
Go here Fri & Sat, 4-8:30pm to grab a drink and listen to wonderful, live classical music . Great for people watching , resting after crawling all over the museum , & before going to your fav restaurant
Find the elevators by walking left toward the modern art section after entering the great hall. Only from 1st floor.
The best view ever ???? Get your drink, enjoy the view ????
The sculpture can be great, or confusing, but the view never misses and the martinis make it divine.
Wonderful place to enjoy a glass of champagne
An amazing place to ponder the magnificent collection with a coffee and cocktail
You're paying for the views here, but you have to make the trip at least once during the summer. Cocktails are $15 and beers are $9, but the atmosphere makes up for the overpricing.
Great location, only open in the summer but offers incredible views of Central Park
The view is really nice and the fake grass floor is nice to sit on
Great views ! Exhibitions include large installations. Cool bar and vibe on Friday afternoons.
Great view on a warm summer day. Drinks are pricey .
Enjoy amazing views of the city and a delicious rosewater cocktail
Current exhibit at the roof top is not for me, but it is still a great view of the city !
The rosewater is great. Try it with some gin and you'll be happy.
Great views ! Exhibitions are usually large installations. The place for great photos.
No more Big Bamboo but still a great place to chill out . You will feel like you are floating on top of central park .

Keep staring at the water tank with the cephalopod thingies. The glass blinks.
Come early in the morning, late in the evening, or not at all.
Amazing views from this downtown rooftop. Expect expensive drinks. I'll be back for sun-downers. - Paul Gallagher
Awesome view, good cocktails (as long as they’re on the menu — surprisingly limited options outside of the menu.) - Andreas Gebhard
Small pool but delicious cocktails. $18 Guac but it is handmade in front of you. - Ms Helene
Incredible museum. I could spend days in there. Loved the medieval room but it was all great. - hello_emily
Love my park. I've been taking 6 mile walks around Central Park 3 times a week. Sheep's Meadow is a great place to hang out for a picnic. Tavern on the Green is an awesome spot to grab a drink. - Leigh Ann
Magnificent, awesome... the best of my visit to the big apple...!! - Fer SE
