Try the absinthe , sit on the patio , stare at the cathedral , and drunk text your devout Catholic mom to let her know what you're doing.
Wonderful place to enjoy Absinthe (always seeking a chance meeting with the green fairy ). Walking down Pirate's Alley itself you may feel the cool breeze of a pirate groom seeking his lost bride.
Where else can you sit in a Pirate bar , drink Absinthe that is served the tradtional way, (sugar cube set on fire) and have it served by the coolest pirate with tourettes on Earth?
You would never suspect this is one of the best bars in NOLA. No air conditioning . Cash only . Order an absinthe cocktail . Sit overlooking the church during golden hour in the breeze.
I ALWAYS stop by here for a drink! Plus it's a good stop over on the history tours because DUH! History!
It's not clean & pristine, but there's history here, and they make a damn fine Sazerac !
Personally absinthe tastes gross to me. But I got the absinthe mixed with champagne drink and it was quiet tasty.
Small bar , cash only , but great vibe and customer service.
If it's your first time just take the bartender 's recommendation.
This was a French jail frequented by pirates such as the Lafitte brothers.
Super fun space, great selection of classic absinthe cocktails
While the drinks are an acquired taste, the staff here is super knowledgeable . Great stop!
Definitely try the Green Fairy ! If you hate the taste of licorice then get the atomic rootbeer . (absinthe drinks). Great local bar !
Where else in the world can you experience Absinthe and a NOPD horse who likes to eat sugar cubes ?
Good place to try absinthe !
$10 Absinthe just as good or better than the $20 absinthe
Try the Absinthe ! If you don't like it, the bar wench will add ice and Coke and it will taste like rootbeer .
Awesome little spot to drink absinthe
Great Absinthe while given a brief history of the drink.
Try the most offensive shot in town : The Toxic Baby
A cool refuge on a hot day. The pirate punch is pretty good.
I know it's famous, but I didn't care for the cash-only absinthe .
Freshest mojitos - great way to settle your stomach after the fried heavy foods of NOLA
Get the bloody, they're made from scratch and so delicious
Try the Nouvelle Orleans absinthe . Best absinthe they have.
Love a good absinthe champagne
Real absinthe served the traditional way, 3 French brands and one Spanish. Try them all!
You won't hallucinate. But it's fine.
Toxic Baby !!!!! $3.00 don't ask, it's good, & u get a baby! WIN
Get the double Bloody Mary , so good :)
Have to give the absinthe a go
Tiffany makes the best Absinthe while explaing the history of the drink.
the bartender says Every hour is happy hour
Setting it on fire is actually NOT the "traditional" way. Its more of a late custom that was developed for shock value.
Go for the absinthe
protip: allows dogs!
Try the Atomic Root Beer .
Dont try to come here with a child. Hey.. I didnt know. Now I do.

Favorite bar in New Orleans. Good beer selection, great people. Nice patio, and the house food menu is excellent and well priced. Sports friendly without feeling like a sports bar. Just go here. - David Fransen
I love this place when the sun is down and the piano is playing. The purple stuff will catch up with you quick. It's a great getaway from Bourbon Street while still being on Bourbon Street. - Latham Brunson
Everything is deep fried delicious! Always add more powdered sugar! - Chinemenma Yoruk
Great atmosphere and drinks. Food was great, blackened drum(fish), red beans and rice. Would recommend to everyone to give it a try. - Robert Cottrell
