Fabulous ferry trip...saw Banker Horses near the shore line & multitudes of water fowl. Glorious. Very friendly & informative staff at lighthouse visitors center. Beautiful beach . An incredible day.
I love the history of the lighthouse and family's that live their. Beautiful view from the lighthouse of all the surrounding scenery.
To get to the island and lighthouse requires a ferry ride (currently $15/person). If you don't want to go to the island , there are 2 free visitor centers, in Beaufort, NC and on Harkers Island, NC.
WOW! Gorgeous. Recommend The Lookout catamaran half day journey.
Great day trip out to an undeveloped island . Bonus: a real lighthouse .
Not a lighthouse you can drive to - be prepared.
Wild horses .
Great place to rock on a front porch & watch the water and wonderful sunsets :) Only a couple of restaurants & a grocery/ hardware store combination . - Erica Cosentino
Beautiful exhibits. It’s like going to my Grandma’s house for a history lesson, except for every single settlement Down East! So authentic and inspiring! - Brenton Marcom
Volunteers sleep here for a month. ALONE! ???? - Wendi Lassiter
Walk right up to the lighthouse! So much history! Bring your own water or a brita bottle. The water on the island is pretty rough. - Brenton Marcom
