US Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima)

The United States Marine Corps War Memorial represents this nation's gratitude to Marines and those who have fought beside them. While the statue depicts one of the most famous incidents of World War II, the memorial is dedicated to all Marines who have given their lives in the defense of the USA.

I knew of this memorial but didn't realize it was dedicated to USMC. Visited with Stars and Stripes Honor Flight (6.11.16) - photo shows all Marine vets of our group with some current members.
