A really lovely spacious gastro pub in St Albans. Very friendly and well mannered staff . Also a varied menu where every choice would be divine!
Nice pub with big patio beer garden . Shame that it is a McMullen pub but if you are lucky they stock Hertford Castle Pale Ale which is the only decent beer that they make.
Impressive looking former hotel . Generally food orientated. Over 21s only.
Great spot that serves Erdinger on tap - always a winner. Live music on a Thursday night. Watch the level of the beer - it can sometimes be a little lower than it should.

Good for a drink, especially in the afternoon/early evening. Loud later on. Food is fine but better dining elsewhere.

Food ok. Mug of chips very small. Nice surroundings & fairly friendly service meant it was a good pitt stop when shopping..

The steak sandwich here is rubbish. Thin stringy steak and only accompanied by caramelised onions . Avoid.
The quality and portion of the food has gone from brilliant to awful. Shan't be returning.
