Tips here which refer to restrooms , McDowell, and it being in Scottsdale are referring to the McDowell trail some thirty minutes drive east. This trail does NOT have restrooms and is in Phx.
Noticed that somehow map location was changed on this-how? I created this check-in 2 years ago while standing in the parking lot at the Dixie Mtn Loop/Hawks Nest trailhead. Thanks, City of Scottsdale.
Not the BEST hike . Too dry! Better hike at Pinnacle Peak and Squaw Peak and if you can handle Camelback Mtn..go for it, the view is fantastic at the top! Bring WATER for this hike & a camera !
There are reports of snakes, incl aggressive ones, in the northwest segment of this trail . Of course there can be snakes anywhere, but be careful 10 min on either side of the Sonoran Blvd sign. 3/2011

Google shows the preserve between Bell and Legacy, but the easiest entry point is just south of Legacy behind the southeast corner buildings...
Cyclists should watch out for my buddy, Hector. He tends to favor the inside of the trail path.
