This cafe is famous for its retro style classic decor. The food is good with a variety of choices. Service is fast and friendly . This cafe is one of the must-visit cha chaan teng in HK! Read more
Mido encapsulates an old school ambience ( been here since the 50s!) to classic cha chaan teng food. Sitting here evoked a sense of nostalgia for old films , a very unique spot to check out!
If you're growing up from the restaurant neighbourhood, its nice to be back once in a while for good old memories with some old Hong Kong snack and drinks, servers are nice, can speak english too...
Reminiscent of old Hong Kong that sets the stage for a culinary journey through the city 's rich history. We sampled an array of classic dishes, from crispy pineapple buns to silky smooth milk tea .
Unlike those typical HK cha chaan teng restaurants , the service here is far better. The staff are very helpful and friendly .
Quaint little Hong Kong diner . Popular with tourists so there's an English menu. The baked spare rob with tomato sauce ($58) is really delicious!
One of the cooler old style diners in the city . Walk upstairs and try to get a window seat for amazing views both outside and inside. I really like the baked rice dishes.
Remember, you're not here for the food, then you won't be disappointed.
A 1950's restaurant that definitely needs no fancy Instagram filter to become retro . Authentic local food for a fair price .
Love love love the decor and atmosphere in this old school cafe , even though the prices are a little jacked up. Will pass the baked pork cutlet rice , think it's overrated.
The decor is like stepping back in time and the french toast is equally out of this world. Great breakfast spot .
Mido is one of the oldest tea cafes (or cha chaan teng ) in the city , having opened in the roaring 1950s. The décor hasn’t changed much since its opening, and that’s part of the charm! Lovely! Read more
鸳鸯 had more tea than coffee in it. It's nice to have a window seat and people watch while you wait for food.
Best french toast , crispy noddle. Tea&coffee (mix together) is good but not sweet.
typical old hk style cafe , very few of its kind now. a must to sit upstairs to have a view over the surrounding. and better come in winter when the air con. not operating for the authentic setup
Very unique place, stuck in the olden days. The Chinese borscht is very good.
Retro cool cafe . In my top 10 cafes around the world.
The toast and the milk tea were okay. I tried the pork chop in tomato sauce baked rice and was very disappointed. The price is on the high side considering the quality of the food's just okay at best.
Food was good but service is somewhat bad. The interior of this 1950 was what attracted me to this restaurant . A must try at least once if you are nearby. Price is higher than other local restaurants
Good food, good environment, absolutely Hong Kong style , and very reasonable price.
Local Hong Kong style cuisine, not to be missed
Just around the corner from CHI 279. This world famous cafe has been serving up delectable treats since 1950. We recommend the pineapple bun (bolo bao )
Lovely ambience that makes you feel like time has stood still for the past half century. Food is just okay, but the milk tea was really good.
One of my favourite French toasts in HK.
Foods are hit and miss. Pricy . Vintage vibe.
Nice little local cafe , upstairs room has a very cozy atmosphere
Try their French toast . One letter wise forget it if you're looking for the Hk style type
Need to wait 20 mins for baked rice . Pork chop has good bite to it.
French toast is a must try item! Baked pork chop taste very nice.
close to Temple Street, easy to find! Better to sit upstair, a classical chinese cafe , food are nice too, but price is a bit higher, still recommend to go!
Overrated I must say.. But the pineapple butter bun is delightful.. The coffee and tea mix is also one of a kind
I ordered Macaroni and pork ribs , pork with tomato sauce and toast with eggs and luncheon meat, frankly looks so so and taste worst. Food is super bland :/ wouldn't recommend!
milk tea was good! strong flavors! the french toast was good but its fried so it was a but too heavy! its not good once it gets cold or dampen
Should try their baked pork chop rice , French toast and ice red bean drink
Come for the French Toast and the half-coffee, half-tea thing.
tomato soup macaroni for breakfast !
Pineapple bun and milk tea !
An upscale western restaurant . As seen on Travel Channel’s The Layover with Anthony Bourdain .
Old school complete with spot-on interior
Old school vibes.
Yummy foods, however very poor services especially to local and PRC cos family business . They would run the business even much better.
Baked Spareribs Rice is a must-have though Baked Spareribs Rice and Baked Porkchop Rice may not be available too early in the morning. Read more
Expensive for a cafe in HK. Not crowded for a Sunday late morning.
Frankly I think this place is overrated, overpriced and overhyped by tourist books . The food at best mediocre.
Egg sandwiches or french toast in Kowloon
Food are very dirty n expensive ! We ordered tomato soup and we found hair and a piece of sponge on the soup . And the food is not tasty. If you are foreigner u may hv a drink but don't try the foods!
Retro cafe . Highly overpriced.
Over priced food menu. Come once for the atmosphere, eat the cheapest, take your photos and never come back.
Over-rated. Try other cha chaan tangs.
Mido is closed! Went on 3 dec 2014 and not sure if they are permanently closed or just renovating.
Very authentic hole in the wall cafe! The French toast and milk tea as everyone has mentioned, is good! - Mohammed Pitolwala
Best pork shop in town (HK island definitely). It's always busy as they open from early morning until afternoon (3-4pm), closed on Sunday. Very reasonable prices and all foods on the menu are great! - PoY
Great curation of movies???????????? Amazing book store with local and international selections and DVDs/film section - Gregory K.
The smoked salmon spaghetti and cinnamon toast a la mode are my absolute favorites! - Karen Lee
