Top of all ghirardelli in San Francisco has a plaza where you can enjoy the view and you shake , ice cream or whatever you ask for. Be patient is always crowded .
There's a rich history behind this company, founded in 1852 by Italian chocolatier Domenico Ghirardelli. To this day they still produce some of the best chocolate in the world. Try anything! Read more
It's hard to say what's best here since basically everything is good here. I'm more inclined to prefer dark chocolate , but you can choose anyone and won't be disappointed. The factory inside is A+!
You can never go wrong with ice cream . End of story. Just don’t forget that you can change the flavors of ice cream in your sundae . Also, don’t come here on a Saturday evening. It was SOOO crowded !
Everything is great here but people should compliment more on the knowledgeable staff because they know everything about where they work and that's a rare trait. Free samples when you walk in too!
Love the ice cream selection . Tend to be crowded over weekend, so u want to avoid this, come later in the evening. Take a stroll ard the premise Abd enjoy your ice cream !
Chocolate , chocolate and more chocolate ! If you're in San Francisco, it would be illegal not to stop in and get your sugar on. The workers are friendly and you feel like a kid in a candy store ...
Best Chocolate Shop in SF. I love Sea Salt and Caramel ones. Try the big box of minis, taste each one and choose your best.
Love the chocolate and the ice cream . They have great deals after holiday season. Gifts options are good. Try their hot chocolate mix it is great.
Yes, you've had their squares everywhere, but Ghirardelli still represents some of the finest in chocolate-making around the world, so be thankful they're ours.
Free samples of chocolate when you go in! And when I tried to leave I was given another one! This place is bigger and better for sundaes , but to buy chocolate go to its sister shop across the square.
A brand of chocolate with it's own ice cream parlor ? Believe it! Their employees also give out free chocolate to every customer who enters their chocolate shop area (which I abused a few times haha).
To avoid the long line at the original choc factory , head to the back to the marketplace to still get your chocolate fix but without as long as a wait!
Get the tickets at San Francisco cable car and get 10% off at Ghirardelli!
So. much. chocolate . Go for the unique stuff you can't get from regular retail locations like supermarkets and pharmacies .
If you love chocolate and ice creams , and are in SFO, you should make sure that you pay them a visit! You will not regret!
Everything is great in here.. HUGE portions though.. You get to see the making of their chocolate beside getting a free sample !
Try the golden gate. Ghirardelli version of a banana split with vanilla/pineapple, strawberry and chocolate .
Always a great place to visit. The ice cream never fails to make me happy and end many a visit to the city .
You can find Ghirardelli Chocolate anywhere around SF but just check out the beautiful view of the wharf from this place
The new place is bigger than its older cousin. You have ample of place to sit and relax..no big queues.. love it !
If you are a chocolate lover, this is a must ????
Go see the chocolate making process, buy some freshly made chocolate or if nothing else, try the free samples given at the door
Tried their signature fudge ice cream ... super goooood. Oh, their chocolates are good too.
Yes, it's touristy and overcrowded, but watching the chocolate made the old fashioned way and having a sundae with the dark chocolate fudge is totally worth it
I love it! Anything with chocolate fudge tastes awesome, worth the calories ????
Free samples ! They have special San Francisco flavors here, too, and the sundaes they serve are huge.
Pick up the paper menu in the front, scan in the code from the back of it with your smart phone, & show the cashier to get 10% off orders
Ice cream sundaes . They r huge. We went a couple of days and had different ones.Sal were good choices.
The shop near the entrance sells ice cream and chocolate in large containers, but you can buy individual squares at the Marketplace .
Go In summer at night take your butterscotch hot fudge sundae outside and enjoy the great ambience of Ghirardelli Square - quite romantic with the lights at night
Pretty much a tourist trap but fun nonetheless. Check out the chocolate fountain/tempering machine in the back of the main room
Mmmm CHOCOLATE♥ yum!! Believe me If you have a sweet tooth, this is heaven. super fun place :)
What else can I say? The best and most famous chocolates all around the world
Sundaes are good but the ratio of ice cream to fudge/sauce is off, ends up as soup with giant blobs at the bottom in like 2 seconds
My most recent discovery here are the chocolate covered dried cranberry . Deliciously addictive!
When they give you the sample and you want to share it with a friend, don't split it in half. It's likely full of caramel and you're going to get your fingers sticky!
The Intense Dark Sundaes have A LOT of ice cream and hot fudge : it's best to share one with a friend rather than trying to eat it all on your own....
My first experience was bad, I tried the chocolate sea salt smoothie but it was just sugar for me ????
When buying retail chocolate , use the lane to the right to avoid the sundae line mob
Walk in through the downstairs and out through the upstairs to get two free samples !
This store has the widest range of chocolates and gifts , but is really tiny and cramped. For sundaes go to the Marketplace across the square (its bigger).
I waited for my hot chocolate longer that I would like to and it wasn't even crowded . At least it tasted delicious. Worth visiting only if you are there the first time.
This cafe is chaos. Seat yourself, if you don't mind stalking those trying to eat their sundaes . Waiters have to wander around looking for table numbers, hope this sundae is worth the 40 min wait!
Hot Cocoa is wonderful! A must try......even thought you may have to stand in line forever!
Free samples all around. A must for the chocoholic in us all.
Cool place, but don't order a milkshake . Our group got 3 different kinds and they were all ~okay~ But the sundaes looked good!
The Presidio Passion is a delicious treat to try. If you parked, you can get a voucher .
Holy Chocolate , I never thought I would say this, but chocolate overload! You can make a custom bag of 50 or 80 by the way :)
The sundaes and hot chocolate are delicious make sure to try both!
