Step in here and be transported to HK. The signature parrot fish belly congee is legit and so are the sides like fried beancurd and cheong fun with sweet n sesame sauce .
After having their pop-up store at Botanic Garden ’. They finally opened their permanent store here. Their congee takes about 5 hours to be prepared in order to achieve that consistent creamy texture.
Definitely worth the hype! The parrot fish belly congee is delicious, with a strong wok hei taste! And the fish belly is thick and fresh! This is comfort food at its very best!
Cantonese-style congee with a more extensive menu than its original outlet in Hong Kong. Great option for a hearty breakfast or lunch . Must order dishes: Pleated Steam Rice Noodles & Dace Fish Balls !
History while u wait. Near the entrance, the heritage of Mui Kee is outlined, starting from 1979 in Mongkok (HK), to 2018 when an outlet opened in Singapore
Surpringly their yutiao (deep-fried dough fritters ) were crunchy & tasty. $2.50 for this bowl which can be shared with 3-4 persons
Option for plant-based diners: Four Treasures which has mushroom , bamboo , bamboo pith, moss). Note that congee base has fish
Enjoyed their sizzling kailan . Whole cloves of partially roasted garlic added magical aroma to the claypot dish. Would order again
Good service . Try congee with parrot fish-aromatic and tasty.
Unimpressed with threadfin belly congee , despite its 'wok hei ' (smokiness), $18 price tag & bigger portion (pictured right). Prefer the flavourful sliced parrot fish congee ($9.80)
Enjoyed their signature sliced parrot fish congee . Very flavourful ????????
Meatballs are not the minced meat style. Meat has been pounded into a paste, which then gives that smooth texture
This Hong Kong Legend is finally in Singapore. Porridge has the "wok hei " taste and smell. Chee Cheong Fun is the sticky type and taste very nice.
The Chef Recommendation of Parrot Fish Congee wowed me with the wok hei smell and taste. The fish taste really good
Opens for breakfast from 8am on Sat, Sun & public hols
Threadfin belly porridge is best. Fried beancurd skin and the century egg are must-tries!
Didn't find anything special about their congee , but I do agree the parrot fish is delicious.
Tasty smooth porridge . Very good century eggs
Porridge is smooth but tasteless, special meatball is not special, normal machine made meatball without much taste. Nowhere near the porridge i had in HK. Milk tea is diluted and lack fragrance. POOR
Fried beancurd skin was forgettable
Can get better porridge in Peach Gardrn or Crystal Jade Kitchen, not worth the Q.
Very ordinary food. Too much hype. Not worth the wait.
