This is my ideal bookstore - a place that sells coffee and has a patio with wifi and places to sit! And they're applying for a liquor license which will make it even better
Check out this bookstore in the summer & catch an intimate live reading/acoustic session. Relax surrounded by walls of books and local art , make sure to try a bowl of their decadent macaroni & cheese !
Super endearing book store with great coffee and a patio out back. They also serve breakfast dishes like egg burritos and avocado toast .
The store is relatively small, so Stories is probably not the place to go if you are looking for something super specific; but it's perfect for discovering any number of eclectic gems. Read more
Coffee drinks are great! Not great: often hearing conversations on dumb topics like astrology , psychics, sacred geometry, and alternative medicine . Sooo LA ????????
Coffee is great not the best but very cheap compared to most LA coffee shops . What I love about this place is the large selection of books and the quirky aesthetic
Dust off your journal & experiment with some free form poetry while you sip hot tea & indulge in the decadent mac & cheese . Stop by in summer to catch an intimate live reading or acoustic session.
The Mate Tea was great. The wifi was good enough to work but not fast. Great music .
Legit some of the best chai I’ve ever had.
Best Cafe in a Bookstore , August 2010 - Vegetarian chili is tomato-y, hearty, and unspicy, served with toasted baguette slices drizzled with olive oil . Read more
Pretty good selection of books for the size of this place. Cold brew was super strong (which I like).
Great selection of used books . Fill up your shelves at home with books to impress one night stands.
loved this bookstore ! cute cafe in the back with a fabulous patio !
Books , coffee , tea , food, music , and a back porch . Might be the perfect place.
Good espresso . Great work ambiance. Plus nice back patio where it's generally chill to smoke ... though Im sure you're not meant to ;)
Both the space and the people give it serious Bushwick vibes.
Cosy place . I'm definitely will go there again.
First Saturday of every month they have a free comedy night.
Great monthly story-telling show called Two-Headed Beast there, definitely worth checking out. Read more
the back patio is always cool and breezy no matter how hot it is. the free iced tea refills helps too
Eat in the patio out back.
Iced tea ! Has free refills ????????????????????
If you have a book or group of poets/writers, book the patio for a reading.
Their iced mocha is bomb but its kinda hit and miss because sometimes its heaven and sometimes hell but I still get it everytime
There is a small but nice religion-philosophy-esoterica section.
Red velvet sandwich & fig bar are really good.
Best place on earth.
